CANCER TOUCHES EVERYONE.
Almost anyone you can talk to either knows someone or has had a family member with cancer, or even had a type of cancer themselves.
I don't want to stop and count the number of people I know or family members I have lost to cancer, much less the survivors that have fought or are still fighting it. The most important was my maternal grandfather, J.D. Lampley. He was diagnosed Sept. 17, 1997 with Brain and lung cancer. He passed away Nov. 3, 1997. Now on Dec. 18, 2003 my paternal grandfather Roy Caneer has been diagnosed with several different liposarcomas, or cancerous tumors of the fatty tissue, in his abdomen and is fighting a tough battle with cancer.
**UPDATE** Feb. 11, 2004- Pappy had surgery on Jan. 22 to remove six tumors (The largest was the size of the human head, two more grapefruit size, and three more larger than large eggs), a kidney, part of his colon and his gallbladder and all went wonderfully well and after 13 days in the hospital, 6 of them in ICU he is now at home. Thank you everyone for your prayers and please continue to pray he makes a speedy recovery.
We also lost a good friend, Bill Brown to cancer Jan 7, 2004. I could go on and on- one of these cases is way too many. That's why I've made this page of links about cancer. I'm gathering information on cancer, how to help, how to donate, support links and anything else I can think of. Maybe it will help someone else whose life has been touched by cancer. If you have a link or page that should be up here, please Email me.

RELAY FOR LIFE One of our local Cancer Doctors groups takes donations of money, snacks, items to be raffled, auctioned, etc to raise money for Relay for Life for Cancer research. I am currently (and will do so as long as I have spare time and craft supplies) making them some items to raffle or auction, then donate the money to Relay for Life. If you are a crafter and would like to donate crafted items to this cause, please contact me. |
