3oz Medium Worsted Weight Yarn
(Don’t use baby yarn or Simply Soft for this project- it’s too limp/thin) Red Heart or Caron Perfect Match is a good choice.
Row 1: Half Double crochet in 3rd chain from the hook and each chain across. First 2 chains skipped count as first stitch. Turn, chain 2.
Note: Be sure to count each row as you work and make sure there are 36 stitches across including your turning chain.
Row 2-22: Skip 1st hdc and hdc in each stitch across including your turning chain. Turn, Chain 2.
Don’t forget to hdc in your turning chain at the end! It can be tricky, so be sure to count your stitches and be sure you hdc in the last stitch as well as your turning chain!
Divide for neck:

Repeat Row 23 for 6 more rows.
You should have 7 rows in all of 12 half double crochets.
Finish off right side of neck.
Hold bib with right side facing you (with the right side of the divide you just worked on your right) and join yarn 12 stitches from your left on the unworked side.
Repeat Row 23-29, working 12 half double crochets for 7 rows. At the end of the 7th row, DO NOT CHAIN 2 OR FINISH OFF.
Row 30: Slip stitch in the 12 stitches across of left side of neck, chain 12, Slip stitch in next 12 stitches of right side of neck. (Be careful not to twist the chain when you join)
Row 31-35: Chain 2, turn. Skip first hdc and stitch across. Be sure to count your stitches to make sure you have 36 stitches and don’t forget the turning chain from the previous row counts as a stitch!
Edging:
At the end of row 35, chain 1, turn and single crochet all the way around bib, putting 3 sc in each corner. Finish off.
