Interested in John HITCHCOCK (b. 1772, m. Temperance (?), d. 1829 in Whitley Co., KY), the father of Phoebe HITCHCOCK who married Samuel RICE, 1815, Floyd Co., KY. I'm seeking documentation/proof that his father was Joshua HITCHCOCK (b.about 1742 in Baltimore MD) who served in the Revolutionary War and obtained his pension in Floyd County in 1833. John is my 4th Great Grandfather.
Researching BOWMAN (BAUGHMAN), BROOKS, COOK, COPE, HAGINS, HAMMAN, HARBOUR, HERRIN, LINVILLE, MOORE, MULLINS, POLLY, SPURLOCK, STAMPER. Most came from VA, a few from NC, settling eventually in Breathitt Co., KY. Time frame- mid 1700's to late 1800's. I am interested in family histories, early county histories that have these surnames or that describe their lifestyle and about where they lived.
