I plan to visit the Floyd County area by next spring to do some genealogical research on my ancestors who lived there, namely my great-great grandfather Jesse BROWN and my great-great grandmother Mary Ann "Polly" PORTER who were married there in either 1825 or 1826.
I believe his father's name was also Jesse BROWN but I don't know his mothers name.
Polly's parents (I believe) were William PORTER and Martha HUTSON PORTER.My brother and I have a good history of this family after they moved to Brown County, Indiana, circa 1827-1830, but have little information before that time.
Would you please send me the names and addresses of individuals who are looking for this same family name. This would be very helpful in my research.
