At the suggestion of Charles Wells, I am writing to you. I am attempting to join a lineage society.
It is my understanding that James PATTON of Floyd County was born c 1752 in Augusta Co., VA and is buried in Stephens Branch, KY (Floyd Co.). He married in 1773 Florence GRAHAM born c 1757 in Augusta Co., VA. My understanding from Charles C. Wells' book,Annals of Floyd County(page 115), is that James PATTON died soon before May 19, 1817. James PATTON was appointed Sheriff of Floyd Co. in February 1809. Florence GRAHAM died c 1830, probably in KY.
I need proof that:
1. James PATTON is buried in Stephens Branch
2. James PATTON married Florence GRAHAM
Any assistance which you may give me would be greatly appreciated. I will reimburse you for any costs that are incurred.
