Submission of photos to be included in this gallery will be appreciated. We are interested in pictures of individuals, family groups, places, and events. We are also interested in pictures from surrounding counties that once was part of Floyd County. Any pictures submitted and used will have proper credit given to the submitter.

The following mini-gallery consists of various photographs taken in Prestonsburg, KY and its immediate area.

A group of Floyd County residents in front of the Floyd County Courthouse, which was completed in 1891. This was probably taken a few years later. Information as to the occassion and any names of individuals would be appreciated.. For a larger image, click here.

Second row, left to right: Elizabeth Wells, unknown lady, Winnie Johns, Lida Cottrell, Kate Burchett, and Tom Burchett. Nelle Davidson May was the widow of Col. A. J. May, the Confederate officer. The above two photographs were taken in 1927, when the Prestonsburg DAR dedicated a monument to John Graham, first surveyor of Floyd County and its first land agent. The monument stands on the lot directly north of Billy Ray Collins's resturant on First Avenue in Prestonsburg. For a larger image, click here.
