Fudge Brownies
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter 2 squares unsweetened chocolate 1 cup sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 3/4 cup all purpose flour 1/2 cup chopped nuts 1/2 Recipe for No Cook Fudge Frosting OR 1/2 Recipe for Chocolate Glaze Chopped nuts (optional) |
In a medium saucepan melt butter and chocolate over low heat. Remove from heat. Stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Beat lightly by hand just till combined. Stir in flour and 1/2 cup nuts. Spread batter into a greased 8x8x2 in. baking pan. Bake at 350 for 30 min. Cool. Frost or glaze top |
Cake Brownies
Ingredients:
1 1/4 cup sugar 3/4 cup butter 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1 cup milk 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional) No cook fudge frosting |
In a large saucepan heat sugar, butter, and cocoa powder over med.
heat till butter melts, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add eggs
and vanilla. Beat lightly just till combined. Combine flour, baking powder,
and soda. Add dry ingredients and milk alternately to chocolate mixture,
beating after each addition. Stir in nuts. Pour batter into greased 15x10x1
in. baking pan.
Bake in 350 oven for 20 min. or till toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool. Frost with No cook fudge frosting . Cut into bars. Makes 36. |
Buttermilk Brownies
Ingredients:
2 cups all purpose flour 2 cups sugar 1 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 1 cup butter 1 cup water 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 2 eggs 1/2 cup buttermilk 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1/4 cup butter 3 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder 3 tbsp. buttermilk 2 1/4 cup sifted powdered sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla 3/4 cup coarsely chopped pecans (optional) |
In a mixing bowl combine flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a medium saucepan combine 1 cup butter, water, and the 1/3 cup cocoa powder. Bring mix just to boiling, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add the chocolate mix to dry ingredients and beat with mixer on med. to high till thoroughly combined. Add eggs, the 1/2 cup buttermilk and the 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla. Beat for 1 min. batter will be thin. Pour batter into greased and floured 15x10x1 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 for 25 min. or till toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Meanwhile for the frosting, in a med. saucepan combine the 1/4 cup butter, the 3 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder, and the 3 tbsp. buttermilk. Bring to boiling. Remove from heat. Add powdered sugar and the 1/2 tsp. vanilla. Beat till smooth. Stir in chopped pecans. Pour warm frosting over the warm brownies, spreading evenly. Cool in pan or wire rack. Cut into bars. Makes 36. |
