8 Layer Spread
Ingredients: 1 8 1/2oz. can refried beans 1/4 cup picante or taco sauce 1 cup shredded lettuce 1 8oz. carton of sour cream 1 6oz. cont. avacado dip 1 cup shredded monterey jack or cheddar cheese 1/4 cup sliced green onion 2 tbsp. sliced or chopped pitted olives 2 med. chopped tomatoes Tortilla chips or crackers |
Stir together beans and picante or taco sauce. Arrange lettuce on a 12 in. plate, 2 in. from edge. Spread bean mix over lettuce, making layer about 1/4 in. Then layer avacoado and sour cream dip. Top with cheese, onion, and olives. Cover and chill up to 24 hours. Before serving, arrange tomatoes on top. Arrange chps on a platter around spread. Makes 16 servings. |
Nut Cheese Spread
Ingredients: 1 8oz. pkg. cream cheese 1/2 cup shredded cheddar or swiss cheese 1/2 cup chopped walnuts 1/4 cup milk 2 tbsp. snipped parsley 1/8 tsp. onion powder celery sticks apple slices assorted crackers or melba toast |
In a mixing bowl, bring cream cheese and swiss or cheddar cheese to room temp. Add walnuts, milk, parsely, and onion. Stir till combined. Cover and chill up to 24 hours. To serve, spread on celery sticks, apple slices, crackers, or melba toast. Makes 24 servings. |
