"Birth Parents and family" for a long time without any luck. He was born "Wayne Douglas Hall" in the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada on January 6th 1945. On May 8th, 1947 --- Allan Muir Armitage & Marjorie Adele Armitage were granted a Decree of Absolute Adoption of "Wayne Douglas Hall" who was after this date known as "William Herbert Armitage". "Bill" (as he likes to be called) has asked me to help him in any way I can in his search. I mentioned putting it on the Internet and he said sure he was willing to try anything. Bill has gone through government agencies and others and paid for a searches. The only information he has received so far is that his birth mother was of British descent and that he was born in the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. (***see UPDATE below***) Bill is currently living in Northern Manitoba Canada. He has no access to a computer and says he wouldn't know what to do with one anyway. He would like to get in touch with his "Birth Mother &/Or Family". If you have any suggestions or know anything about this family please E-mail me at ceveritt@yellowhead16.net and I will forward all information I receive to "Bill Armitage" by phone as well as printed out so he has a copy. We thank-you for taking the time to read this and for any help you can give to this matter. C.R. Everitt For Bill Armitage. UPDATE: William Herbert ARMITAGE-(Adopted Name) was given the birth name of Wayne Douglas HALL. He was born on January 6, 1945 at 4:14 a.m. at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg and weighed 6 lbs. at birth. Health History: Was admitted to the hospital in February, 1945 with a history of vomiting since birth. Diagnosis of Congenital Pyloric Stenosis was made and an operation was performed. Recovered normally and was put the average formula for a child his age. Bill's (Wayne's) Birth Mother: Birth mother was born in 1919 in Ontario, Canada. She was a Protestant of British Descent. In January, 1945, she had brown hair, blue grey eyes and a fair complexion. She was described by her worker as intelligent, not very communative, self willed and capable of planning. She enjoyed good health. She completed grade 10 at a Technical school and left school at the age of 16. She liked all her subjects except math. She was employed as an office worker for 4 years prior to the birth of her baby. Prior to moving to Manitoba ms. HALL lived in Saskatchewan. She met the birth father at a dance and knew him for about 9 months. She did not tell him about her pregnancy and in fact lost contact with him. At the time of the birth ms. HALL's only mentioned her grandmother (living in Saskatchewan)and an Uncle who lived in British Columbia in 1945. (*There may be other family but they weren't talked about) It is unclear from the records whether the baby went home with the birth mother for 3 months before he was placed for adoption or whether he was placed in a foster home 2 weeks prior to the adoption placement. Maternal Birth family. Maternal grandfather was a Protestant of English Descent. He was employed in a management position and traveled on his job. He died in 1937 in Ontario Canada. Maternal grandmother was a Protestant of English Descent. She died when birth mother was born in 1919. Maternal great-grandfather died in a mental hospital. Maternal Great uncle lived in B.C. A maternal great-aunt had at one time lived in Ontario. Birth Father information: Birth father was born in England and it appears was temporarily employed in Canada. He was a protestant. According to birth mother he "had a good Education and enjoyed good health, spoke nicely, seemed nice, did not take liquor, and seemed to want someone to wait on him and do things for him". He was 5'11", of medium build, had dark brown eyes, a fair complexion and weighed 165 lbs. He spoke of his mother and his sister. He apparently returned to England.(*No name given) We are interested in any information on "Bill's", "Waynes" birth family. |
