The Gift

Did you know that no one can do enough "good" things on earth to "earn" heaven when they die? The Bible says in Is 64:6 "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags;...". It also says in Eph 2:8-9, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and not of yourselves: it is the gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast."

I would like to take just a minute and share with you how you can be saved.

The Bible says "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. (Rom 3:10), (we cannot measure up to God's standards!), and we must pay for that sin, "For the wages of sin is death"(Rom 6:23) (eternal seperation from God)

Do you have to pay the wages for your sin? NO!! Because JESUS paid for YOUR sins on the cross!!

cross

The Bible says in the rest of Rom 6:23 "... but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.", and in Rom 5:8 it says, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." What an awesome verse! Eternal life is a gift from God, and He gives it to us, even though we are sinners! But this does not mean that everybody is going to heaven. Just like any other gift, the gift of salvation has to be accepted. In 1 John 5:11-12, the Bible says " And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son, hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life."

So how do you accept this gift? Romans 10:13 tells us "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved". It is true that anyone can "call" His name, but the "call" has to come from the heart. In a nutshell, you have to believe you are a sinner, and your penalty for that sin is eternity in hell. You must believe that Jesus paid the penalty for your sin by dying on the cross, and was buried and rose again. Then you must be willing to repent (turn away) from your sin, and through prayer, invite Jesus into your life to become your personal Savior.

plan

If Jesus would take you right now as you are--and He will--would you recieve him as your Savior? If you answer yes, here is a simple prayer for salvation:

" Dear God, I am sinner and need forgiveness. I believe that Jesus shed His precious blood and died for my sin. I am willing to turn from sin. I invite you to come into my heart and life as my personal savior."

FOUR THINGS GOD DOESN'T KNOW

A sin He doesn't hate

A sinner He doesn't love

A better plan of salvation than the one He provided

A better time to get saved than right now!
