Surviving are his wife & the following children Charles, Helen, Frank, Irene, Gretchen, & Anna Belle. The following brothers & sisters Edward of Cincinnati, Albert of Pine Grove Furnace, Laren of Wheelersburg, Sarah of Sciotoville, Mrs. Verna Craine of Portsmouth, Mrs. William May & Mrs. Charles Green of Sciotoville, Mrs. Clara Crabtree of Wheelersburg. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Wheelersburg Baptist church with Rev U. E. Pinson in charge.

He was born on May 23, 1861 at Bloom Furnace & was a son of Joseph & Wisla Born (Should Be Ursula). At the age of 15 he moved to Germany Hollow & had lived there ever since. He was a farmer. Mr. Born is survived by his wife, Mrs. Catherine Warner Born & these children. She had been in ill health for some time and death was attributed to complications. She was the daughter of Benjamin & Adeline Compliment & was born in Scioto County May 25, 1860. Her father was a Civil War Veteran. She was married to Frank Born April 13, 1879, & was the mother of 13 children. Three children preceded her in death. She is survived by three sons Joseph of West Virginia, Alfred of North Dakota, Frank at home, seven daughters Mrs. Joseph Gerling of Chillicothe, Mrs. Mary Ives of North Dakota, Mrs. John Walter of Minford, Mrs. Margaret Adams of Gephart station, Mrs. Frank Martin of Wheelersburg, Misses Josephine & Nellie Born at home: three brothers John Compliment of Columbus, Frank Compliment of Indiana, & Lewis Compliment of Portsmouth. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren & 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held in St. Peter's church at 9 a.m. Saturday and interment under the direction Hacquard (??can hardly read it) will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.

Surviving are seven daughters, Mrs. Addie Gerling of Cincinnati, Mrs. Mary Ives of Menoken ND, Mrs. Clara Walter of Minford, Mrs. Margaret Cottle of Wheelersburg Rt. 1, Mrs. Bertha Martin of Hayport Rd, Miss Josephine & Miss Nelle Born both at home, three sons, Joseph of Ironton Rt. 2, Alfred of Menoken N. D., Frank of Waverly Rt. 2, 25 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren & a great great grandchild. His wife the former Frances Compliman, preceded him in death in 1935. A son & two daughters also preceded him in death. But that is not right it should be 2 sons & 1 daughter. He was a member of St. Peter's church. The body will be at McCurdy FuneralHome until 9 a.m. Tuesday when it will be taken to St. Peter's church for services. Rev. Hubert Rubeck will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.

He is also survived by 23 grandchildren & 24 great-grandchildren. Mr. Clausing was employed as a chief engineer for Vulcan Last Corporation from 1911 to 1947 at which time he retired. He remained active in a home workshop until last December when he became ill. Mr. Clausing was also well known as an inventor. He held several patents for machinery & parts of machinery. The body is at Daehler Funeral Home & will be taken to the residence after 4 p.m. today. The body will remain at the residence until the funeral hour Monday at which time it will be returned to the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home Rev. Dr. Birney Roberts will officiate. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery. Funeral services for George Clausing 88 were to be held this afternoon at Daehler Funeral Home with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Mr. Clausing for 36 years chief engineer at the Vulcan Corporation plant until he retired in 1947 died Thursday at the home of a daughter Mrs. Rose Ryan 3101 Scioto Trail.

Henry Clausing died at his home on East Eleventh street this morning at 7:45 o'clock. He had been sick for 2 years past suffering from asthma.. Mr. Clausing was 62 years & 5 months of age. He was born in Germany and came to this country when 24 years of age. The greater part of the time he had spent in this city. For many years, he was employed at the Gaylord rolling mill. His last work was at the Wait Cabinet works where he was employed as a night watchman until ill health compelled him to resign. He leaves a wife and 5 children Lydia, Lewis, George, Adolph & Will. He passed away in Mercy Hospital where he had been a medical patient the last six days. He started to fail in health about a month ago. Born May 4, 1861 in Monroe Furnace, Scioto County he had lived in Portsmouth ever since he was 2 years of age. His parents were the late henry & Anna Marie Eaves Clausing. His wife the former Miss Mary Gabler died 17 years ago; a grandson Robert Maguet was killed in service in World War II & a daughter Mrs. William Gowdy also preceded him in death. Surviving are 2 daughters Mrs. John Maguet at home & Mrs. O. M. Hall of Roanoke; 3 sons Walter L, Clarence W & J Albert all of Portsmouth. 3 brothers George & Adolph of Portsmouth, William of Gowanda New York; 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren. She was born January 2, 1933 in Portsmouth a daughter of the late William W & Emma R Stevenson Chaffin. She was a homemaker & worked as a housekeeper & nurse's aid at Winchester Terrace Nursing Home in Mansfield & as a housekeeper for Mansfield Management & Pleasant Hill. Surviving are her husband James A Hale of Shelby whom she married April 27, 1996. 5 daughters Mrs. Skip (Garnet A) LeClair of Johnsville, Mrs. Kenny (Elizabeth J) Darr of Butler, Mrs. Carter (Emma R) Smith of Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Steve (Patty Jean) Crider of Butler & Carolyn Rose Cockrell of Mt. Vernon. Two sons Johnny Lee Born & Billy Joe Born both of Butler. One stepdaughter Teresa Hale of Shelby. One stepson James D Hale of Shelby. 2 sisters Ruth R Hogan of Mansfield & Wanda Jean Bray of Manchester Ky. 1 brother David C Chaffin of Columbus. 22 grandchildren & 17 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her first husband Paul Born January 13, 1992. Two sons Paul Eugene Joseph "Joe" & Roger Paul Born & one granddaughter. Mike (Linda) Burcham of 1538 S. 4th St. She was born May 30, 1894 in New Boston but it should be have been 1897. The daughter of William P & Matilda Jenkins. She lived in this area all of her life. She was married to Elba Shears & James Hardy. She was preceded in death by her husband & 4 children. She is survived by 2 daughters & 2 sons: Mrs. Ellis (Lorene) Massie of Ironton, Mrs. Hilda McComas of Ironton, Earl of Ironton, Thomas Hardy of Hecla, 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren & 1 sister Etta Culver of Piqua Ohio. William Perry Jenkins 79 of 1409 Harrisonville Avenue New Boston passed away at 5:45 a.m. Sunday in Portsmouth General Hospital following a three-year illness of complications. He was born October 14, 1867 in Buffalo West Virginia. The only son of the late Daniel Perry & Margaret Jenkins he was married in 1885 to Armilda Russell who also preceded him in death to this union were born four daughters Mrs. Bertha Crance with whom he resided & Mrs. Charles Oliver of New Boston, Mrs. May Hardy of Ironton, Mrs. Pearl Culver of Piqua. In later years he was married to Mrs. Miram Cassidy & to that union were born five children5 children 3 of whom survive Perry & Elmer Jenkins of Columbus, & Mrs. Maxine Onley of Springfield. Also surviving are three sisters Mrs. Lena Fowler, Mrs. Cora Landers, & Mrs. Darcus Lett of Ramon City West Virginia. 22 grandchildren & 17 great grandchildren. Two other sisters are deceased. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Emanuel Baptist church with Owen Croy pastor in charge. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery. The body will remain at Sowards funeral home until the funeral hour.

Funeral services for Raymond LeCompte 43 of 4214 Spruce Street New Boston, Ohio, are to be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at New Boston Methodist Church. Mr. LeCompte a stationary engineer for Detroit Steel Corporation Portsmouth Division lost his life in a traffic accident at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday near Tazwell Tennessee. Mr. & Mrs. LeCompte had gone to Harrogate Tennessee Sunday to attend graduation ceremonies for their son-in-law & daughter Mr. & Mrs. George Goble who received diplomas Monday from Lincoln Memorial University. The parents had planned to spend a week visiting in Tennessee & were scheduled to return home to New Boston next Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. Goble. The LeCompte auto & a tandem truck were involved in the accident five miles north of Tazwell. Mr. LeCompte who had been employed at the steel plant 25 years was born in Mingo County West Virginia August 17, 1915 a son of Edward LeCompte & Carmen Elizabeth Moore LeCompte. Mr. LeCompte was married February 14, 1935 in Cattlettsburg, Kentucky to Lena Oliver. Mrs. LeCompte survives. Also surviving are the daughter Mrs. Lena Rae Goble who plans to teach at Portsmouth East High School in the fall; the son-in-law who plans to enter the armed service; a cousin Eugene Moore of New Boston & an employee in the Rexall pharmacy there. Mr. LeCompte was preceded in death by his parents. He was a member of the Western Sun Masonic Lodge of Wheelersburg, Yezdigerd Grotto & the United Steel Workers of America Local 2116. Rev. Roy Heimbach of Cedar Street Church of Christ in Christian Union is to officiate at services in New Boston Methodist Church. Interment is to be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens under the direction of Morton Funeral Home of New Boston. She was preceded in death by her father & mother, 1 child & 2 grandchildren. She attended Camp Creek grade school. In Gallia County later took advanced work at Olive Furnace School following which she attended Rio Grande College. She taught in the public schools for five years, two years at home school on Dry Ridge, one year at Bloom Furnace, one year at Thompson school on Pine Creek & one year at Lyra school. When she was 15 years old, she became a member of the Methodist Church at Olive Furnace, Ohio. After the death of her mother & completion of her work at Rio Grande College, she spent one year at Maysville, Kentucky where she studied music. On December 22, 1903, she became united in marriage to Jesse L Robinson. After living in Delaware, Ohio one year, they established the present home at Lyra. Her many friends in the community remember her for the loyal devotion she so faithfully gave her family. She is also well remembered for her beautiful handicraft work & for her lovely flower gardens.

Robinson. 9 children Clarence & Elmer of Sciotoville, Omar & Galen of Cleveland, Carl & Nellie at home, Mrs. Bessie Vipperman of Michigan, Mrs. Hazel Cook of Wheelersburg Rt. 2 & Mrs. Alma Cardwell of Portsmouth. She also has a sister Mrs. Bessie Bush of Thurman. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 10.a.m. at Antioch Baptist church at Lyra. Rev. John Kemper & Arthur Weaver will be in charge. Burial will be in Vernon cemetery under direction of D. W. Davis funeral home. The body may be viewed tonight at the home.

Two sisters Bessie Mae Vipperman of Detroit Michigan, & Hazel Cook of South Webster, a brother Elmer Robinson of South Webster. Seven grandchildren & two great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by three brothers Clarence, Carl, Ralph Galen Robinson & 2 sisters Alma Cardwell & Nellie Bandy. Pfc. Robinson Dies In Combat. South Webster Graduate Casualty in Korea. Pfc. Ralph G. Robinson 25 son of Jesse L. Robinson of Wheelersburg Rt.. 2 has been killed in action in Korea where he was serving as a rifleman with the 7th Calvary Regiment. Pfc. Robinson had resided in Cleveland for 6 years prior to entering the army September 1950. He was the husband of Mrs. Muriel Robinson of Cleveland. He was killed October 5th according to the message sent his wife by the Department of Defense. The infantryman took his basic training at Ft. Knox, Kentucky & was sent to Korea last January. He was a graduate from South Webster High School. Besides his father & wife, 4 sisters & 4 brothers survive.
