1830 North Carolina
Census
Explanation of the numbers.
The 1830 and 1840 census contained 12 colums of age information
for males and 12 columns for females. These were for Free white
persons, including heads of families. In addition, there were
columns for Employment, Pensioners, Impairment, and Schools. I
have only included the information from the age categories, which
were:
- To 5
- 5-10
- 10-15
- 15-20
- 20-30
- 30-40
- 40-50
- 50-60
- 60-70
- 70-80
- 80-90
- 90-100
This information was repeated
for both males and females. An example of how to read the census
information presented here would be:
