This Indenture made this nineteenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and three between THOMAS HOLLOWELL and MARY HOLLOWELL his wife of the one part, and JOHN REEVES of the other part Witnesseth that the said THOMAS HOLLOWELL and MARY his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of thirty eight dollars and twenty five to them in hand paid by the said JOHN REEVES at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, they the said THOMAS HOLLOWELL and MARY his wife have granted, bargained, sold and confirmed and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto the said JOHN REEVES, his heirs and assigns forever, a certain piece or parcel of land situate in Portsmouth Parish in the County of Norfolk on the main road leading from Hodges ferry to Shoalses hill, about two miles from the said ferry beginning at THOMAS BUFKINs corner at the Great branch on the said road, thence binding on the said road, North 71-1/2 degrees east two chain 80 links thence North 67 degrees East four chain 96 links to DEMPSEY WATTS corner, thence binding on his line of marked trees North 10 degrees West 92 links, North 13-1/2 degrees West two chain 34 links to a white oak in said WATTS line, thence binding on a small branch South 88-3/4 degrees West 2 chain to a gum, thence North 88-1/2 degrees West 3 chain 32 links to a Water Oak in said branch, thence South 22-1/2 degrees West one chain 56 links to a gum, thence South one chain 85 links to a gum, thence South 11-1/2 degrees West two chain 83 links to the first station together with all houses, buildings ways waters, water courses, woods, under woods, profits, commodities, hereditaments, and appertenances whatsoever to the said land belonging or appertaining and also the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders, yearly and other rents, issues and profits thereof and every part and parcel thereof, with every of their rights and members unto the said JOHN REEVES his his heirs and assigns to and for the only proper use and behoof of him the said JOHN REEVES his heirs and assigns forever. And they the said THOMAS HOLLOWELL and MARY his wife, for themselves and their heirs, shall will and do warrant and forever defend the title of said land unto the said JOHN REEVES his heirs and assigns against the claims of them the said THOMAS HOLLOWELL and MARY his wife their heirs and assigns and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall will and do warrant and forever defend by these presents. This Indenture made this eleventh day of September in the year of Lord one thousand eight hundred and seven between THOMAS HOLLOWELL and MARY his wife of Norfolk County of the one part and JOHN REEVES of the aforesaid County of the other part. Witnesseth that the said THOMAS HOLLOWELL and MARY his wife for and in consideration of the sum of twenty nine Dollars already in hand paid them by the said JOHN REEVES the receipt whereof they doth hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained sold and confirmed and by these presents doeth grant bargain sell and confirm unto the said JOHN REEVES his heirs and assigns forever one Tract or parcel of Land containing by estimation two acres and a quarter be the same more or less bounded as follows beginning at a water Oak a corner tree between REEVES and HOLLOWELL from thence a straight line to corner Post between said REEVES and DEMSEY WATTS from thence to a white Oak a corner tree between said REEVES and HOLLOWELL and from thence to the beginning. To have and to hold the said parcel of Land to him the said JOHN REEVES the said THOMAS HOLLOWELL and MARY his wife doth quit claim and possession unto him the said JOHN REEVES his heirs and assigns forever. This Indenture made this Eleventh day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nine Between SAMUEL HATTEN of the town of Boston in the State of Masechusets of the one part and FREDERICK HOLLOWELL of the County of Norfolk and State of Virginia of the other part Witnesseth that the said SAMUEL HATTON for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and thirty three dollars and thirty three cents current Money of Virginia to him the said SAMUEL HATTON in hand paid by the said FREDERICK HOLLOWELL at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge Have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said FREDERICK HOLLOWELL twenty two and six sevenths acres of Land being one seventh part of the whole tract whereon the said HOLLOWELL now lives and which the Uncle of the said SAMUEL died seized to him the said FREDERICK HOLLOWELL his heirs or assigns To have and to hold the said one seventh undivided tract of land his heirs and assigns forever against all title claim or pretentions to claim from all and every person or persons whatsoever In Witness whereof he the said SAMUEL HATTON hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his Seal the day and date above written. This Indenture made the seventeenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twelve between THOMAS HOLLOWELL and MARY his wife of the County of Norfolk in the State of Virginia of the one part and JOHN REEVES of the county and state aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said THOMAS HOLLOWEL and MARY his wife for and in consideration of the sum of fifty one dollars to them in hand paid by the said JOHN REEVES at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said JOHN REEVES his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land containing five acres and three roods situate near the road leading from Hodges ferry to Suffolk in Portsmouth Parish and County aforesaid and bounded as follows, to wit: beginning at a Water Oak in a branch that divides the said HOLLOWELL & REAVES, thence running N15 30'E12 chain to a stake in the land of DEMPSEY WATTS decd thence binding on the said WATTS line N10 30'W 6 chain N14 30'W 2 chain 50 links to a corner Red Oak in ROBERT COX's land, thence binding on his line N79 30'W 3 chains 30 links to a corner stake in the said HOLLOWELLs land, thence binding on his line S4 30'E to the beginning, together with all houses, buildings woods undere woods ways waters watercourses, profits commodities, advantages emoluments, hereditaments and appurtenances, and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders, yearly and other rents issues and profits thereof; to have and to hold the said tract of land with every of its appurtenances unto the said JOHN REEVES his heirs and assigns forever; to and for the only proper use and behoof of him the said JOHN REEVES his heirs and assigns forever. And they the said THOMAS HOLLOWELL and MARY his wife for themselves and their heirs the aforesaid tract of land with every of its rights and appurtenances unto the said JOHN REEVES his heirs and assigns free from the claim or claims of them the said THOMAS HOLLOWELL and MARY his wife or either of their heirs and of all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall will and do warrent and forever defend by these presents. This Indenture made the thirtyeth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifteen between BATEMAN MILLER of the County of Norfolk of the one part and ABSALOM HOLLOWELL of the said County of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred dollars current money of Virginia to the said BATEMAN MILLER in hand paid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt wherof he doth hereby acknowledge, he the said BATEMAN MILLER have granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed & confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto the said ABSALOM HOLLOWELL and his hries forever one certain tract or parcel of land situate in the parish of Saint Brides and County of Norfolk containing sixty acres more or less bounded as follows to wit beginning at a cypress at the swamp side thence a South West course to a crooked sweet gum, then to a large sweet gum between KADER MILLERs & my land then along the said line to a sweet gum near BASSET BUTTS line, thence along the said BUTTS line to the corner tree which is a swamp beach; thence down the said BUTTS line to the swamp side to a large sweet gum, thence ginding on the said swamp of various courses to the beginning cypress, the same being that tract or parcel of land given to me by my father EDWARD MILLER and all ways waters and water courses profits commodities hereditaments and appurtenances to the same belonging and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders issues and profits thereof and all the estate right title and interest of him the said BATEMAN MLLER of in and to the same with the appurtenances. To have and to hold all and singular the premises with the appurtenances unto the said ABASLOM HOLLOWELL his heirs and assigns forever, to the only proper use and behoof of him the said ABSALOM HOLLOWELL his heirs and assigns forever and the said BATEMAN MILLER for himself his heirs executors and administrators do covenant promise & agree to and with the said ABASLOM HOLLOWELL, that he the said ABSALOM HOLLOWELL his heirs and assigns shall and forever hereafter may peaceable and quietly have hold use occupy possess and enjoy all and singular the premises with the appurtenances without the lawful let suit trouble molestation or hinderance of any person or persons whatsowver, and the said BATEMAN MILLER and his hiers the above granted premises with the appurtenances unto the said ABSALOM HOLLOWELL and his heirs and assigns against the lawful title claim and demand of all and every person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. This Indenture made the twenty first of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & sixteen between ALICE HOLLOWAY of the Borough of Norfolk & State of Virginia of the one part and HENRY OATEST of the same place of the other part. Witnesseth that the said ALCEY HALLOWAY for and in consideration of the sum of thirty Dollars in current money of Batlimore or District of Columbia to her in hand paid and secured to be paid at and before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said HENRY OATEST & his heirs forever the following lot piece or parcel of land situate lying and being the fourth part of two hundred acres more or less in the County of Norfolk adjoining the lands of KADER OLD and LANG FENTRESS and being on North West river being land decended in copartency to the children of BENJAMIN HOLLOWAY upon his decease intestate; and the said ALICE HALLOWAY one of the four legatees have in consideration of the above sum conveyed bargained and sold, and by these presents do bargain and sell the fourth part of the above mentioned land containing fifty acres more or less unto HENRY OATEST and his heirs forever, and the said ALICE HALLOWAY doth covenant and agree with the said HENRY OATEST and his heirs to defend against all claims rights or titles of every person or persons which may now or hereafter appear. This Indenture made the tenth day of December in the year of Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty one, Between ISLES SIMMONS on the one part and his wife MERIAM on the other we have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto JOHN HOLLOWELL his heirs and assigns all that tract parcel of land called the Net real together with all and singular the apertinances to the same belonging or in any wise appitaining. To have and to hold the said land and appitenances forever it laying on the Western Branch in the County of Norfolk Virginia the begining of the boundry is from a Stake joining WILLIAM FEAS South line, thence to a chinquepin stump close to a water oake thence Eastwardly along WILLM. FEAS lin to the corner of WM. FEAS, WM. JOHNSON, thence on WILLIAM JOHNSONs line Northerly to WM. FEAS corner thence Westerly binding WM. FEAS line to the Western Branch and tence on the Western Branch to the first Station for the sum of Five Hundred seventy five Dollars to us in hand paid. This Indenture made the 20th Day of March in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and twenty two Between WILLIS HALL of the County of Norfolk of the one part and FREDERICK HOLLOWELL of the said County of the other part Witnesseth that the said WILLIS HALL for and in consideration of the sum of ninety dollars to him in hand paid by the said FREDERICK HOLLOWELL his heirs and assigns a certain tract o parcel of land lying and being in St. Brides Parish in the County of Norfolk and containing by estimation forty five acres and sixth eights of an acre be the same more or less bounded as follows; Beginning at WILLIAM ADKINSON corner and EDWARD CREEKMUR Dec'd near the main road thence running up the said CREEKMUR line and NEHEMIAH FOREMAN and ALEXANDER FOREMAN so for a straight course on the land that will make two seventh of the land that was sold by an Order of the Court for the heirs of CHARLES HALLON deceased together with all the singular houses barns buildings Stables yards gardens orchards lands tenements meadows pastures feeding commons woods underwoods ways water water courses fishing priviledges profits easements commodities advantages emoluments hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the said FREDERICK HOLLOWELL belonging or appertained or with the same or any other part thereof and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders yearly and other rents issues and profits thereof. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with the tenements and all and singular other the premises herein before mentioned or intended to be bargained and sold and every part and parcel thereof with every as rights members and appurtenances unto the said FREDERICK HOLLOWELL his heirs and assigns forever and to and for the only proper use and behoof of him the said FREDERICK HOLLOWELL his heirs and assigns forever and the said WILLIS HALL for himself and his heirs the said track or parcel of land unto the said FREDERICK HOLLOWELL his heirs and assigns free from the Claims of him and of all persons claiming under him shall will and warrant and for ever defend by these presents, In witness whereof the said WILLIS HALL hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and date first above written. This Indenture made and entered into this sixth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four between FREDERICK HOLLOWELL Executer of the last will and testament of ABSOLOM HOLLOWELL dec'd of the County of Norfolk & State of Virginia of the one part and JAMES BLOUNT of the same place of the other part. Witnesseth that the said FREDERICK HOLLOWELL executor of ABSOLOM HOLLOWELL decd for and in consideration of the just and full sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold aliened enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain and sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto the said JAMES BLUNT his heirs and assigns forever one certain piece or parcel of land situate lying and being and being in the county and state aforesaid containing by estimation sixty acres mor or less bounded by NATHANIEL WILSONs land on the West by GRACE PARSONs land on the east and by the cypress swamp on the north being the land sold by BATEMAN MILLER to the said ABSOLOM HOLLOWELL decd in his life time which will appear by reference to the deed of Bargain Sale given by the said B. MILLER to said A. HOLLOWELL decd on the record of the Court of Norfolk County, which land the said A. HOLLOWELL decd left in his will to be sold by the said F. HOLLOWELL his exr. For the purpose of a division among his legatees therein mentioned together with all singular the privileges and advantages hereditaments and appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining on the reversion reversions remainder and remainders yearly and other rents issues and profits thereof and of every part and parcel thereof to have and to hold the aforesaid tract piece or parcel of land with the hereditaments and appurtenances before mentioned unto the said JAMES BLOUNT his heirs and assignsfree from the claim or demand of them the said FREDERICK HOLLOWELL executor aforesaid & his heirs and of all and every other person or persons whomsoever shall and will warrant & by these presents forever defend: In Witness whereof the said FREDERICK HOLLOWELL Executor aforesaid has hereunto set his hand & affixed his seal this day month & year first in this Indenture written. This Indenture made and entered into this twenty fourth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty six between WILLIAM ATKINSON & CHARRITY his wife of Princess Anne County State of Virginia of the one part and FREDERICK HOLLOWELL of Norfolk County State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said WILLIAM ATKINSON & CHARITY his wife for and in consideration of the just and full sum of thirty dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold aliened enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto the said FREDERICK HOLLOWELL his heirs and assigns forever one certain piece or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County of Norfolk St. Brides Parish bounded by the main road leading from the Great Bridge to WILLIS HALLs on the East side by a track land belonging to the heirs of EDWARD CREEKMORE dec'd on the South side by the land of the said FREDERICK HOLLOWELL on the west side containing six acres more or less together with all and singular the privileges and advantages hereditaments and appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining on the reversion and reversions remaininder and remainders yearly and other rents issues and profits thereof and of every part and parcel thereof To have and to hold the aforesaid tract piece or parcel of land with the hereditaments and appurtenances before mentioned unto the said FREDERICK HOLLOWELL his heirs and assigns forever; to and for the only proper use benefit and behoof of him the said FREDERICK HOLLOWELL his heirs and assigns forever and the said WILLIAM ATKINSON & CHARITY his wife for themselves and their heirs executors and administrators doth hereby covenant and agree to and with the said FREDERICK HOLLOWELL his heirs and assigns the aforesaid tract piece or parcel of land with the hereditaments and appurtenances before mentioned unto him the said FREDERICK HOLLOWELL his heirs and assigns free from the claim or demand of them the said WILLIAM ATKINSON and CHARITY his wife their heirs and of all and every person or persons whomsoever shall and will warrant and by these presents forever defend. Witnesseth That said MARY HOLLOWELL in consideration of the sum of one Hundred dollars of lawful money of the commonwealth to me in hand paid by the said JAMES RION at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Have bargained and sold and by these presents do bargain and sell unto the said JAMES RION his heirs and assigns all my present right title and claims of the Land my Father THOMAS HOLLOWELL possesed in his life time together with all the privileges and advantages belonging thereto the said land. To have and to hold the said land with all the conveinances belonging thereto unto the said JAMES RION his heirs and assigns forever free from the claims of the said MARY HOLLOWELL and heir heirs forever. This Indenture made the 18th day of February in the year eighteen hundred and thirty seven Between WILSON HOLLOWELL and ELIZA his wife of the County of Norfolk of the one part and ABSALOM ONELEY of said County of the other part. Witnesseth that the said WILSON HOLLOWELL and ELIZA his wife in consideration of Thirty three dollars of lawful money of Virg. Commonwealth to them in hand paid by the said ABSALOM ONELY at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt wherof is hereby acknowledged Have bargained and sold and by these presents do bargain and sell unto the said ABSALOM ONELY his heirs and assigns all their right title and interest in and to a certain tract piece or parcel of land situate in the County of Norfolk St. Brides Parish State of Virginia being the same formerly owned by FREDERICK HOLLOWELL decd with all and singular the appurtenances to the said tract piece or parcel of land belonging or appertaining or with the same used and enjoyed or accepted reputed taken or known as part or parcel thereof or as belonging to the same or any part thereof and the reversion or reversions remainder and remainders yearly and other rents issues and profits thereof and of every part and parcel thereof. To have and to hold their said right title and interest in and to said tract piece or parcel of land being one seventh part with the tenements hereditaments and all and singular other the premises herein before mentioned or intended to be bargained and sold unto the said ABSALOM ONELY his heirs and assigns forever to and for the only use and behoof of him the said ABSALOM ONELY his heirs and assigns forever. And the said WILSON HOLLOWELL and ELIZA his wife for themselves and their heirs the said right title and interest in and to said land with all and singular the premises and appurtaining before mentioned unto the said ABSALOM ONELY his heirs and assigns free from the claim or claims of them the said WILSON HOLLOWELL and ELIZA his wife or either of them their or eigher of their heirs and of all and every person or persons whatsoever shall will and do warrant and forever defend by there presents. MARTIN Justices of the peace of the County of Norfolk and State of Virginia do hereby certify that WILSON HOLLOWELL a party to a certain deed bearing date in the 18th day Feby 1837 and hereto annexed personally came before us in our County aforesaid and acknowledged the same. This Indenture made this twenty second day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty between FREDERIC HOLLOWELL of North Carolina and County of Pasquotank of the one part and ABSALOM OWNLEY of Va. Norfolk County of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of thirty dollars in hand paid by the said ABSALOM OWNLEY To him the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged the said FREDERIC HOLLOWELL has granted bargained sold and transfered and by these presents do grant bargain sell and transfer unto the said ABSALOM OWNLEY his heirs and assigns All his right title and interest in a certain piece of land where the said ABSALOM OWNLEY now lives the said land containing six acres more or less. To have and to hold the said piece or parcel of land with its appurtenances unto the said ABSALOM OWNLEY his heirs and assigns forever And the said FREDERIC HOLLOWELL for himself and his heirs executors and administrators doth hereby warrant and will forever defend the title to the said piece or parcel of land with all its appurtenances rights and priviledges unto the said ABSALOM OWNLEY his heirs and assigns against all claims whatsoever. In testimony whereof the said FREDERIC HOLLOWELL hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal this date first above. FREDERICK (X) HOLLOWELL his mark (seal). Signed sealed and delivered in presence of ARTHUR EMMERSON, JR., R. G. BAYLOR, T. R. GRAY. In the clerk's office of Norfolk County the 28 day of July 1840. This Indenture was acknowledged by FREDERICK HOLLOWELL a parth thereto and admitted to record. (Norfolk Co., VA Deed Book 65, pp. 266-267).

Know all men by these presents that we MARY HOLLOWAY and JETHRO BRIGGS are held and firmly bound unto PETER POINER administrator of JOHN HOLLOWAY decd and his representatives in the sum of Two hundred dollars for the payment of which to the said PETER POYNER admr. of JOHN HOLLOWAY decd or his representatives which hird ourselves and our heirs as Witness our hands and seals this 19th day of Nov. 1844. The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas MARY HOLLOWAY and JETHRO BRIGGS the said MARY HOLLOWAY in her own right as legatee of JOHN HOLLOWAY decd and said JETHRO BRIGGS in his own right as grantee of MARGARET HOLLOWAY and grantee of ELIZ. HOLLOWAY and in right of his wife LOUISA as one of the legatees of JOHN HOLLOWAY decd have this day received from PETER POYNER admn of JOHN HOLLOWAY decd the following slaves to wit Dinah and Child Georgianna in full of thir share of negroes Dinah and children Betsy and Georgiana from the property of said JOHN HOLLOWAY decd Now if the said MARY HOLLOWAY or her representatives shall pay unto the said PETER POYNER administrator of JOHN HOLLOWAY decd her due proportion if any debts or demands that may hereafter appear against the estate of the said JOHN HOLLOWAY decd together with the costs attending the recovery of the same then their obligation to be void otherwise to remain in full force and virtue. Know all men by these presents that we JETHRO BRIGGS and MARY HOLLOWAY are held and firmly bound unto PETER POINER administrator of JOHN HOLLOWAY decd and his representatives in the sum of six hundred dollars for payment of which to the said PETER POINER admin of JOHN HOLLOWAY or his representatives we hereby bind ourselves and our heirs as witness our hands and seals this 19th day of Norvember 1844. The conditions of the above obligation is such that whereas JETHRO BRIGGS and MARY HOLLOWAY the said JETHRO BRIGGS in his own right as grantee of MARGARET HOLLOWAY and grantee of ELIZABETH HOLLOWAY and in right of his wife LOUISA one of the legatees of JOHN HOLLOWAY decd and the said MARY HOLLOWAY in her own right as legatee of JOHN HOLLOWAY decd have this day received from PETER POINER admr of JOHN HOLLOWAY decd the following negro slaves to wit Dinah and Child Georgiana in full of their share of negroes Dinah and children Betsy and Georgianna formerly the property of the said JOHN HOLLOWAY decd. Now if the said JETHRO BRIGGS or his representatives shall pay unto the said PETER POINER admr of JOHN HOLLOWAY decd his due proportion of any debts or demands which may hereafter appear against the estate of the said JOHN HOLLOWAY together with the costs attending the recovery of the same then the above obligation to be void otherwise to remain in full force and virtue. Whereas EZEKIEL HOLLOWELL is and stands justly indebted to JETHRO A. JENKINS in the sum of one hundred dollars due and evidenced by his note bearing date the 17th day of April 1845 payable on demand which debt he is willing and desirous to secure in the most-efficient manner and for that purpose hath agreed to make this conveyance. Now therefore this Indenture made and entered into this 17th day of April 1845 Between the said EZEKIEL HOLLOWELL and LYDIA his wife of the first part the said JETHRO A. JENKINS of the second part and WM. J. HOWLAND who has been by the other-parties chosen trustee for the purposes herinafter mentioned of the third part. Witnesseth that the said EZEKIEL HOLLOWELL and LYDIA his wife for and in consideration of the premises aforesaid and of the further consideration of the sum of five dollars to them in hand paid by the said WM. J. HOWLAND at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt thereof they do hereby acknowledge they and each of them have granted bargained and sold and by these presents they and each of them do grant bargain sell and convey unto the said WM. J. HOWLAND his heirs and assigns forever all that certain tract piece or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Norfolk on the Western Branch and containing by estimation Seventy five acres more or less and bounded as follows on the North by the lands of WM. TEE in the East by the lands of C. MILLER & WATTS in the South by the lands of WM. TEE and in the west by the Western Branch and is the same land which was devised to the said EZEKIEL HOLLOWELL by the Last Will & Testament of his father JNO. HOLLOWELL dec'd duly recorded in Norfolk County Court. (The above land is subject to the life estate of his Mother MARGARET HOLLOWELL). To Have and To Hold the said tract piece or parcel of land with its appurtenances unto the said WM. J. HOWLAND his heirs and assigns forever and the said EZEKIEL HOLLOWELL and LYDIA his wife for themselves and their heirs hereby warrants and will forever defend the right title and interest above described in and to the said tract piece or parcel of land with its appurtenances against the claim of all persons whomsoever. Upon trust nevertheless and this Indenture is upon the following conditions that is to say that the said WM. J. HOWLAND and his heirs executors and adminrs shall permit the said EZEKIEL HOLLOWELL and LYDIA his wife to remain in quiet and peaceable possession of the the right title and interest ___ conveyed with defautl made in the payment of the said debt of one hundred dollars when the same shall be demanded with all interest due theron and there upon this further trust full ___ and authority is hereby given to the said WM. J. HOWLAND his executors or administrators upon such default and upon the request of the said JETHRO A. JENKINS is his legal representative to make sale of by public auction of all the tract piece or parcel of land before mentioned with its appurtenances to the highest bidder having bidder having just given ten days notice of the time and place of such sale by advertisement in some newspaper published either in the Town of Portsmouth in Borough of Norfolk and convey the same to the purchaser or purchasers thereof and out of the proceeds of such sale just pay the expenses thereof and of this conveyance then pay the said JETHRO A. JENKINS as his legal representative the aforesaid debt of one hundred dollars with all interest due thereon in so much thereof as may remain due and unpaid and the balance if any pay to the said EZEKIEL HOLLOWELL and LYDIA his Wife their heirs or assigns and the said EZEKIEL HOLLOWELL and LYDIA his wife hereby binds themselves their heirs executors and administrators to pay to the said JETHRO A. JENKINS his heirs exors admors or assigns the said debt of one hundred dollars with all interest due thereon when demanded and the said WM. J. HOWLAND hereby binds himself his exors admors to and with the other parties to these presents that he will faithfully execute the trust ____ in him. In testimony whereof the said EZEKIEL HOLLOWELL and LYDIA his wife JETHRO A. JENKINS and WM. J. HOWLAND Trustee have hereto set their hands and seals this day and date first herein before written. We John Nash and Overton Bernard Justices of the peace in the County aforesaid State of Virginia do hereby certify that LYDIA the wife of EZEKIEL HOLLOWELL parties to the within deed bearing date the 17 day of April 1845 personally appeared before us in our Court aforesaid and being examined by us privily and apart from her said husband and having the deed aforesaid fully explained to her she the said LYDIA HOLLOWELL acknowledged the same to be her act and deed and declared that she had willingly signed sealed and delivered the same and that she wished not to retract it. This Indenture was acknowledged by EZEKIEL HOLLOWELL, JETHRO A. JENKINS and WM. J. HOWLAND parties thereto and together with the certificate annexed of the privy examination and acknowledgement of the __ court admitted to record. Test. WM. J. HOWLAND, D.C. This Indenture maid this second day of December in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty. Between JOHN TEE and MARY his wife of the County of Norfolk of the one part and DANIEL J. TURNER and EZEKIEL HOLAVEY of the saim place of the other part. Witnesseth that the said JOHN TEE and MARY his wife for and in consideration of the sum of nine hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the said DANIEL J. TURNER and EZEKIEL HOLAWAY at and before the ensealing and delivering of these presents the receipt wharof they do hereby acknowledge have bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto the said DANIEL J. TURNER and EZEKIEL HOLAVAY their heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land thereon lying and being in the County of Norfolk on the Western Branch river wich tract of land was bequeath to said JOHN TEE by his father as will appear by his will and whitch is duly recorded in the Clurks office of Norfolk County and whitch tract of land is bounded as follows on the North by JAMES TAYLORs land on the East by JESSE WATTS land on the South by the sid EZEKIEL HOLAWAYs land and on the West by the Western Branch rier the said tract of land contains eighty acres more or less togeather with all and singular the appertenances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaning and the revesion an dreversions remainder and remainders yearly and other rents and profits thereof To Have and To Hold the said tract of land with the tenements hereditaments and ll and singular on the premises hearin befor mentioned hare bargained and sold every part and parcel theiroff unto the said DANIEL J. TURNER and EZEKIEL HOLARAY and their heirs forever free from the claim of them the said JOHN TEE and MARY his wife or either of their heirs and of every other person or persons whatever and shall will and do warrant and forerer defend by these presants. In Witness whareoff the said JOHN TEE and MARY his wife have hereunto set their hands & seals the day and year first mentioned. JOHN TEE (seal), MARY TEE (seal). State of Virginia: County of Norfolk. I John L. Stubbs a motary Public for the County aforesaid do hereby certify that MARY TEE the wife of JOHN TEE parties to a certain writing also whose names are thereto signed and bearing date the 2nd day of December 1850 personally appeared before me in the Couty aforesaid and haring the writing aforesaid fully explained to her and being examined by me privily and apart from her husband she the said MARY acknowledged the __ to be her act and declared that she has willingly executed the said ___ and does not wish to retract it. Given under my hand this 2d day of December 1850. J. L. Stubbs. Notary Public. In the Clerks office of Norfolk County Court the 2nd day of December 1850. This Indenture was acknowledged by JOHN TEE a party thereto and together with the certificate annexed of the privy examination and acknowledgement of the ____ ____ admitted to record. This Deed made the 2d day of December 1850 Between DANIEL J. TURNER and SARAH C. his wife EZEKIEL HOLLAWAY and LYDIA his wife of the one part and GEORGE M. BAIN Trustee of the other part. Witnesseth that the said DANIEL J. TURNER and SARAH C. his wife EZEKIEL HOLLAWAY and LYDIA his wife do gratnt unto the said GEORGE M. BAIN the following property to wit. a certain tract or parcel of land lying in Norfolk County situate on the Western Branch and bounded on the North by JAMES TAYLORs land on the East by JESSE WATTS land on the South by said EZEKIEL HOLLAWAYs land and on the West by the Western Branch containing eighty acres more or less being the same sold to said DANIEL J. TURNER and EZEKIEL HOLLAWAY by JOHN TEE and wife as per deed dated 2d December 1850 together with the appurtenances thereunto belonging and general warrant. In Trust to secure the payment of a note for nine hundred dollars drawn by the said DANIEL J. TURNER and EZEKIEL HOLLOWAY payable to the Portsmouth Savings Fund Society sixty days after date and dated the 26h day of November 1850 also to secure the payment of any note given in renewal of the same or for any part thereof. Witness the following signature and seals. DANL. J. TURNER (seal), SARAH C. TURNER (seal), EZEKIEL (X) HOLLOWAY his mark (seal), LYDIA (X) HOLLOWAY her mark (seal), GEORGE M. BAIN (seal) Trustee. State of Virginia. Norfolk County to wit: I J. L. Stubbs a notary Public for the County aforesaid do certify that SARAH C. TURNER the wife of DANL. J. TURNER and LYDIA HOLLAWAY the wife of EZEKIEL HOLLAWAY whose names are signed to the annexed writing bearing date on the 2nd day of December 1850 personally appeared before me in the County aforesaid and being examined by me privatey and apart from their husbands and having the writing aforesaid fully explained to them they the said SARAH C. TURNER and LYDIA HOLLAWAY acknowledged the said writing ot be their act and declared that they had willingly executed the same and do not wish to retract it. Given under my hand this 2d day of December 1850. J. L. Stubbs, Notary Public. In the Clerks office of Norfolk County Court the 2nd day of December 1850. This Deed was acknowledged by DANL. J.
