Have you ever
thought about just when it all started for you? The
"Geneology Bug", that is. My nephew, Ian, coined the
phrase that I used for the title of this page. When he was little
he had gone on a cemetery fact-finding trip with his grandmother
(my mom) and, while standing among the headstones, was drawn into
the world of his roots and had an immediate need to discover
"from who's loins he had come".
I can't
remember exactly when I started gathering
names, but my heart was drawn in when this
picture was given to me by my mother.
It is the
headstone of Johann Heinrich August Tietz and his wife. He calls
to me and it is he who keeps reminding me to never forget.
