Cocoa is not a rescue -- well, maybe she is, at that. A friend's dog had puppies and he was trying to find homes for them. By that time, my lap had been empty long enough (Skeeter's always been a daddy's girl), so I decided it was time to get another Chihuahua. I also knew it would be very difficult to find a good home for a Chi puppy here in Sanderson (because it's so small - the town that is). After getting Cocoa, I found out our friend's Chihuahuas don't look anything like what I thought a Chihuahua should look like. She's a different dog all around from Skeeter and Spike. She is so rambunctious and rowdy, mischievious and fast that sometimes when she's on a rampage through the house I feel as though a tornado just passed through. |
My Cocoa is the spitting image of a "deer." She is not
registered as my other two are. She was born at the home of an acquaintance.
I knew that this man had several Chihuahuas, but I had never seen them.
Sonny (my husband) made arrangements to take one of the puppies, and I
agreed because I really wanted another Chi and also because I was afraid
the puppy would not be adopted in this small town. I never saw her till
Sonny brought her home to stay.
Cocoa probably also resembles a whippet. I've always thought she resembles a greyhound except for the size. She is long and slender, has a "deer-shaped" head, and long, slender legs. She can run like a greyhound too -- and bound off from your belly like a jack-rabbit -- kicking you with those strong hind legs. |
Cocoa is very different from our two cobby-style registered
Chis -- but she is, nevertheless, just as valuable and priceless as they
are!
