Two Baret/Barrette brothers, Jean and Guillaume, came early to the Saint-Laurence valley of Canada.
Their parents were Guillaume and Thiphaine (Carrey) Baret of France.
Jean married Jean Bitouset in 1661. They had 7 children. One daughter, Marie Magdeleine, married Guilluame Morel.
