We're your friends, your neighbors, your family.
Biscoe Fire Department, protecting the people of Biscoe and the surrounding community for fifty years, is still a work in progress. Since it's reorganization in 1950, many of your friends, neighbors and even family have answered the call for help when they were needed. This means that any time, day or night, heat or cold, there is always a helping hand available when you need it. Staffed by volunteers, the citizens of the community receive the same quality service that is available to larger cities and towns with paid staff.

The visions of our elders have led us to
where we are today.
Fifty years ago, a group of foward-thinking community leaders saw a need. They saw a need for a modern, up-to-date fire service that would provide reliable, professional protection to their neighbors. With little more than a dream and some hope, this group began a journey that continues today. They were able to enjoy the support of the citizens of Biscoe, who provided the funds for the fledgling group to become a fire department. That relationship with the public is still strong, and it is very evident from the support we receive as we continue to improve our service to you.

Making the team.
Being a volunteer firefighter is not easy. It takes time, desire, dedication and love. Time is spent away from you home, your family, your job. The time is spent training, maintaining and actual incident responses. Desire is what is essential to allow yourself the time to accomplish your goals as a volunteer firefighter. Dedication is achieved through the time and desire you put forth as a volunteer - it forces you to want to do better, and has to come from within. Love is expressed through your relationship to your community - your friends, neighbors, family and fellow firefighters. The best friends you will ever have will come from the time, desire and dedication that you possess as a volunteer firefighter.
