Tribute to those who died needlessly in Littleton, Colorado on April 20, 1999
We will all remember that frightful day of April 20, 1999 when innocent lives were taken at the Columbine High School of Littleton, Colorado. It was a sad reminder to all of us of how precious and sacred life really is. Also how easy if we take life for granted, it can be taken away. The following tribute I recieved in email I felt is really appropriate for this.
Tribute to Life
Be glad you have it!This is a tribute; a tribute to all those dead, injured or involved!
Today at Columbine High School of Littleton Colorado there was a situation. A BAD situation! It left at least 25 dead not including the suspects who were also found dead in the school library. So 27 dead and more then 20 injured. And that isn't even counting those who have been wounded on the inside. Those who will suffer and those who lost someone dear. All these people and people from this area will be hurt and mabey even scarred for life. Two suspects entered Columbine High School of Littleton Colorado today dressed in trench coats. No one even took notice. 2 people in a large school like that who would care right? Well, I bet you now everyone cares. These two individuals came and opened fire on the school around 11am and they went down the halls shooting people. Some kids then recognized them. hey call themselves the Trenchcoat Mafia. As one kid reencounts We all thought it was some senior prank. You know nothing big about it till we realized we were being shot at. Then we saw another kid get shot." Others remember losing friend and even family. Another kid said, "As I was running down the steps to get out I saw 3 dead bodies. One of them was my friend" As the suspects went down the halls shooting people they were not caring. They just shot. They held some kids hostage in what is now believed to be the library. The SWAT arrived but by then at least 20 people were injured many having been shot in the chest. One girl was found and she had 9 shots in her chest. She is now in stable condition. As the swat teams searched the school they found and called in many injuries. They would find kids hiding for their lives in some places. Other kids jumped from the windows to escape there could be fate. People would do what was necessary to save them selves. When finally the suspects were found they were dead. No info on how they died but I am guessing they took their own lives. They were found with other dead kids and the estimate was more then 25 confermned dead. Now I ask you how could life be this expendable? How could someone do this? Well, life is precious and those who would take it are not right. They are sick and they need to be dead. Life is nothing to waste and as some of us found out today sometimes you don't get it for long. So live life to its fullest. Embrace life and pamper it. Realize how lucky you are to have it and remember treat each day as your last. Cause you never know what might happen. Now I ask you when you get this mail PLEASE remember and pray for those involved and there family and friends. Don't let this be forgotten and let it stick in your mind. Let this experience touch you and let it remind you of friends and family.©1999 Leslie Stewart
