Woman Held for Assault: Victim Asserts She was Lured to Place of Ambursh Near Sapulpa

SAPULPA, Okla. Jan 9- (Special)- Lured to a secluded spot and then beaten by the wife and stepdaughter of Former Deputy Sheriff Dick Drake, until she agreed to sign a statement absolving the former official from alleged misconduct with her, was the story told by ANNIE USRY, 29 years old to the county attorney today when she swore to an information charging the Drakes with assault.
The Usry woman says that when she appeared here yesterday Drake arranged a meeting with her in the woods just outside the city. Arriving there Mrs. Drake and the stepdaughter suddenly jumped from hiding places, she says, and began to lash her with whips.
