The First Launch!

With the leaks fixed and the engine now working, the real test was to see if it would float! :)
This entailed launching it into the water. Somehow David lived through this event, but I think it was probably touch and go there for a while. Here's how they did it....

Here she is..all ready for her big day...

First the crane had to lower it's 'thing' over the mast..

Then I guess they had to get those straps in place...

Then the crane had to move it over to the water. (Do ya think David was having many maalox moments this day?)

Inspecting the event every step of the way, I guess David decided it was as 'in place' as it was gonna get.

Once it was in the water, the straps had to be removed and the crane operator had to pull that square thingy off without banging up the Mast. No easy job from what I gather.

Yayus!! It floats! <VBG>

From here, David started the engine and puttered the boat around to it's slip.

Work continued at the dock all Summer, but we also got to go out on it a number of times. Eric enjoyed fishing off of it and Kasia and I just enjoyed the slow excursions around the Boston Harbor.

Next season..hopefully the MoonDance will have her sails! <G>
