How to be a Good Intended Parent

It's not that your not a good IP, it's just that everyone has room for improvement in all aspects of life.  I'd like to see all IP/SM relationships to be the most positive experience it can be.  Sometimes it isn't and it's most likely because this is new to everyone involved.  So take what you want and let me know what you'd like to see here.  Please keep in mind that this idea was given to me by an intended mother.
