George Steele was was born 23 February 1827. The only record of his birth is from the Family Bible of George and Rosannah Steele, in posession of this writer. He was born in Tazewell County Virginia, and moved to what is present day Logan County West Virginia, with his parents when he was about twelve years old.. He died circa 1897-1898. George married first to Sarah "Sally" Ellis (born circa 1823), the daughter of Evan and Margaret Ellis. 4. Leander S. "Lee" Steele, born circa 1856, married Minerva "Minnie" Curry, 15 February 1881. Lee Steele died some time between 1890- 1896, because Minerva was married to Thomas Browning by 1896.
