François Truchon, left, and woman believed to be Josephine Roy.
This photo was captioned by my grandmother as "Dad and Mom's sister." I believe this to be a photograph of my great grandmother's sister, Josephine Roy Ruel. The youngest daughter of Basile Roy and Rose de Lima Blais to be born at Sainte Marguerite de Dorchester, Josephine was born on the 24th of March 1876. On April 2, 1894 she married Elzear Ruel, son of Léon Ruel and Celina Fournier at Saint Odilon de Cranbourne. The couple moved to Laconia, New Hampshire, where they lived for many years. I believe that they had at least four children: two sons-Joseph and Ernest (died 13 March 1935, Laconia), and two daughters-Eva (Paradis) and Bella (Daoust). Elzear died March 7, 1939 at the age of 67. At the time of his death he was employed by the Belknap Mill. Josephine died June 16, 1963 at the age of 87. Anyone with additonal information about this branch of the family is encouraged to contact me by email.
