When TJ first came to us I spent several days trying to figure out what he had done that caused his near demise at the dog pound. I found nothing at all. He is intelligent for a Sheltie, lively, active, and busy all the time. He loves to tug on anything. He is incensed at anything that comes near his lake. He loves to chase Ishkabibble.
When Kodiak first came home with us we were very unsure just what would happen. Kodiak immediately decided that TJ is a puppy. TJ is 6 years old, but he is unable to convince Kodiak that he is not a puppy. Kodiak is a willing Tug and Chase partner, and he now has enough energy to keep up with TJ. They are now fast friends.
TJ gets quite excited over his game of Tug, and he is very noisey with growling. Kodiak will lie down in the middle of the living room and hold on to the end of the Tug. TJ will pull him all over the room. When TJ finally gets himself into a corner, Kodiak will get up still holding the tug, and pick up TJ also still holding the tug, and walk back to the center of the room with TJ dangling from the end of the tug, and the game starts all over again.
