DAISY AND SADIE

Daisy and Sadie were our first beagles.  We loved them dearly and learned lots about beagles from them but mainly we owe them our love of the breed.  They were litter mates purchased from a backyard breeder.  Daisy came to our family on a Sunday evening in March 1981 and her sister Sadie joined us a day later when we decided two beagle puppies would be twice the fun of one.  Sadly, they left us almost 14 years later in the same order.  Daisy died on December 31, 1994 and her sister Sadie followed her to the Rainbow Bridge hours later that evening.

The fidelity of a dog is a precious gift demanding no less binding moral responsibilities than the friendship of a human being.  The bond with a true dog is as lasting as the ties of this earth can be.
