Comments: I absolutly adore my ridgeback. Lady is a wonderful addition to our family. I know that Toby probably brought more joy to your family in the years he lived than you ever imagined. i loved the website and will bookmark it to visit it again. Thanksssss........
Comments: What happened to Toby ??
Comments: Thank you for sharing your story. I have been searching for Sam for almost a year now and it has been very difficult. It helps when someone can understand how much I love him. We are lucky to have found Gus. He has given us much joy through the diffic lt time and maybe he will be reunited with his brother one day.
Comments: I lost my besutiful Rusty last year to cancer just 10 days before you lost your boy. A year later my heart is still shatterd and don't think I will ever get over loosing him. He was six years old and the love of our lives. Thank you for sharing Toby wi h me.
Comments: We are looking at possible adoption of a rescue animal, or getting a puppy. We need a little time to heal first-will get hold of you as soon as we are ready for more info. Toby and Mattie are probably playing ball right now!
Comments: Great dogs, hopefully, we'll adopt another RR who is in need of a good home!
Comments: I found this through the Amanda Foundation site. I had a Ridgeback his name was Rusty. He was my baby. I lost him ten days before you lost your Toby. He was only six. Thank you for sharing your Toby he was beautiful. I'm sure Rusty and Toby are both enjoying themselves.
Comments: Love all of your pic's. I am going to bookmark it and check it out more throughly. Toby is a GREAT!! looking boy!! But what else would you expect from a ShadowRidge!!
Comments: you have a great site and i am sorry that you no longer have your dog toby. did he die or did you sell/give him away? you can email me with the answers...i had a RR once... he was also named tobias. when he was a pup he was lounging in the sun 1 morning a d i heard a deep, low bark and a high-pitched yap. i rushed outside and found my poor little tobia being chased by a HUGE male rottweiler. the rottweiler had no collar, but it's neck looked too big for one anyway. i took tobias's chain leash and whacked t e rottie on the head. he came after me and now i only have one hand. then he went after tobias again and scooped the pup up in his mouth then ran off. i called 911 and they said they found the rottie but not tobias. i ran around the block and found a shocking sight--- a tiny tan pup, it's chest torn open, blood seeping out. the once turquoise collar was stained red.... one of the animal handlers came over and scooped up the animal... i knew it was tobias. it is 3 years later and i still am mourning over it... my dear tobias is dead and i now have no reason to love rotties.... my boyfriend and closest friends and i (along with my other dogs) all believe rotties are the DEVIL. i heard later that month after tobias was killed that the rottweiler was put to sleep that same day that tobias was killed.... i still have all toby's things.. in a glass case on the mantle and i will NEVER EVER EVER give them to another dog. but my happy days with toby (which was only 3 months) wil remain with me forever.
Comments: We are very sorry that Toby is no longer here. We feel how much you must miss him. I hope he has found our little Boboti on the other side of Rainbow Bridge.
Comments: I have been lurking on rr folk for about a year now. Just wanted to let you know how sorry I was about Toby.
Comments: Our 13 1/2 year old Dane/Lab mix had to be put to sleep last week. Seeing your Tobster brought tears to my eyes. We are beginning to look for another large dog. (Yuki was over 100#'s after dieting!) I've always liked Ridgeback's and thought I'd check your rescue page. When I clicked where it was indicated, it didn't work. Do you have dogs needing homes? We'd actually like a dog just like Yuki, but need to have a dog that gets along with other dogs (we have 2 Aussie type), cats (2), and horses (16). We have a horse ranch and whatever dog we have must not chase horses or livestock. Or people. Two of our family have small phobias about aggressive dogs. Our dogs have always been very mellow-- Size provides the protective factor. We'd like a pup or young dog. Sex doesn't matter. Check out our website to see our facilities. We're livelong dog owners. Thanks so much, Sandy Nathan

Comments: I'm new to reading pedigrees, but I believe Riley and the Tobster may be very distantly related: "Rover" is Riley's grand-dog! (?)

Comments: I subscribed to RR-Folk after losing my Dixie this past July for educational purposes and have learned a lot about RRs and the duties and responsibilities of ethical breeders. Guess you'd say I'm a daily "lurker". I really do enjoy your posts about your Toby and your rescues. Thank God the world has people like you who truly love and care about the welfare of animals, such as the Ridgebacks. The dogs' faces tell the story -- they are very happy pups after being placed in your care! Thank you for all o your efforts!
