The Picture Page

Now, we can get to pictures of our new son, Master Parker!

This is our son Parker.  How does he look in this picture, like some sort of tough, bald guy?  It's as though he is saying, "Hey, you talkin' to me?!"  Or, maybe he's saying, "So, you think, Mommy and Daddy, that you're going to get your bed back?!?"  He's cute, nonetheless.

This is Parker with my Mom, Betsy.  She is VERY PROUD to be a Grandmother.  So proud, that when we move to Pennsylvania, she'll want to see more of Parker than of us.  Here, Mom is showing a wonderful Raggedy Andy doll which someone made us from our church in Ohio.

However, the Raggedy Andy doll became deranged in a moment, and my Mom could not stop the attack on Parker.  Fortunately, she reacted before any serious damage could be done.  (Notice my Mom looks so calm, while I almost dropped the camera from the surprise of the assault.)

This is my Dad, Jack, on the right with Parker.  Actually his name is John V. Callahan; and thus I am named John V. Callahan, Jr.  (Boy, my grasp for the obvious is mind-boggling!)  Anyway, when Dad first heard he was going to be a Grandfather, he was a bit shaken by the news.  You can see in the picture he is A-OK with the idea now, although he WILL NOT change any diapers.

This is me, my Mom, and my sister Carol, and (of course) Parker.  He was very young then, about one month old.  This was taken in our old house - the dining room is in the background.

This is my Brother-in-law, Jonathan.  He has been married to my sister for two years.  They both live in Aurora, IL, just outside of Chicago; and they are working in various ministries there.  Jon is very tall, about 6' 4".  He looks like Mario Lemieux of the Pittsburgh Penguins.  I think this is one of the reasons Carol married him.  Either that, or it's because he has a good singing voice.  Here, Jon is putting Parker to sleep with the great novel War and Peace.  You should try it - it works so well that YOU may fall asleep, too.

However, we DO NOT recommend C.S. Lewis' book, The Problem of Pain.  It reminded Parker too much of his birthing experience.

Welcome to the Bottom of the Page.  You have several options now.  You can 1) sit here for a bit and watch what the pretty little birdies are doing, 2) sit here and do nothing, or 3) sit here, watch the li'l birdies, and then continue with the picture show.  It is all in your hands!
