Yes, Bikes!!

Ed and I enjoy bike riding. Not motorcycle riding,
we're talking about the pedal pushing kind!

When we ride, we often go anywhere from 20 to 50 miles.

Below is a link to a page of us with our bikes!
and just so you won't be disappointed, I'll tell ya now;

No, they aren't the super expensive road bikes.
They are just comfort bikes. (Schwinn Sierra)

Us and our Bikes!

We especially enjoy riding these bikes on the
Lincoln Prairie Trail! Below is a link to it!

Lincoln Prairie Trail
It's a paved bike trail that stretches from
Pana to Taylorville ~ about 15 miles one way.
We usually ride this trail several times each year.
Sometimes we even start from home,
making it a 50 mile round trip!

There is also a trail that goes from
Mattoon to Charleston ~ about 12 miles one way.
It's a limestone trail, not a paved one though.
but unfortunately, I don't have a link to it.

Another trail in Illinois that we have enjoyed riding
is the Tunnel Hill Trail, down in Southern Illinois.

Tunnel Hill Trail
It's another limestone bike trail and it
stretches from Karnak to Harrisburg ~ or about 49 miles one way.
We have covered this trail both ways and hope to do so, again!

The Katy Trail!
This is a link I just have to share!
This is the Katy Trail in Missouri!!
We FINALLY rode this trail from end-to-end!
(Ed's blog about the ride is linked below)
The trail stretches from Clinton, Missouri to St. Charles, Missouri.
It's about 225 miles one way.
Our next goal is to ride it out and back again!

We have also participated in a few organized rides
over the years. There's one in Arthur that we especially
like to do. It's in the Amish country and they have some
of THE BEST chocolate chip cookies!! We sometimes joke
that we participate in this ride just for the cookies!!

We also participated in Mattoon's RAMFAB, when they had it!
Ride Around Mattoon For A Bagel
and while it was also a fun ride .... I think it'd have been
better (and maybe would still be going today) if it had been a
RAMFAC! (Ride Around Mattoon for a Cookie !!

Below are some Ride Reports!
I may eventually put links to more rides on here ...

Our Katy Trail Vacation September 2007!
We rode a total of 284 miles in 5 days!
This is Ed's BLOG about our Ride/Vacation!

My SHORT version!!
If his version was too long for you
here is a much shorter version of our
September 2007 Katy Trail Vacation!
Told by me!

To Charleston & Back, 2004
This is another one of Ed's BLOG's about a ride.
On this day, we rode over 100 miles!
This is something we talked about doing for a long time
before we finally attempted it. Then, after we did it we
questioned why we ever wanted to attempt such a thing! =)
It was a fun day though, and who knows, maybe we will do it again!
