to my special place

Hello there, this is where I like to come at the end of a long day, kick off my shoes, lean back and reflect on everything that's right with the world. You hear so much about the things that are wrong, let's discuss the things that are right, the things that make us happy. What's that? Oh, ok...I'll go first...Well, the main thing that makes me happy is my family. My daughter Lacy, walked down the aisle with me when I married Steven on June 1st, 1996. Steven's father married us. It was truly a wonderful day.

Steven and I had a son on December 12, 2000. His name is Jake. We are all so happy to have Jake in our lives. Lacy is especially proud of her little brother. She is a tremendous help to me.

There are a couple of poems I would like to share with you. I hope you enjoy them.

~Keep Smiling~

If at times you feel you want to cry
And life seems such a trial
Above the clouds there's a bright blue sky,
So make your tears a smile.

As you travel on life's way
With it's many ups and downs,
Remember it's quite true to say
One smile is worth a dozen frowns.

Among the worlds expensive things
A smile is very cheap
And when you give a smile away,
You get one back to keep.

Happiness comes at times to all,
But sadness comes unbidden,
And sometimes a few tears must fall
Among the laughter hidden.

So when friends have sadness on their face
And troubles round them piled,
The world will seem a better place
And all because you smiled.

~Catch a Rainbow~

If I could catch a rainbow
I would do it just for you,
and share with you it's beauty
on the days you're feeling blue.

If I could build a mountain
you could call your very own,
a place to find serenity
a place to be alone.

If I could take your troubles
I would toss them in the sea,
But all these things I'm finding
are impossible for me.

I cannot build a mountain
or catch a rainbow fair,
But let me be...what I know best,
a friend that's always there.

Remember you should treat your friends like family,
and your family like friends.
