In 1997 1,054,000 cases of child abuse were founded this represents 15 out of every 1000 children.
3 times that many were reported.
In 1996 there were 1,185 child abuse and neglect fatalities, that means more than 3 children are killed every day.
44% of these children died of neglect.
51% from physical abuse.
Most were under 5 years old.
47% of these were known to child protective services.
What is going on in our society?
What is it that makes people turn into monsters?
I hear people say, 'well I was abused so I abuse'.
That's crap and frankly I don't want to hear it anymore.
I was abused and know many other people who were also we all have children and none of us are abusers.
I feel that if you kill a child and an autopsy shows bruises over most of that childs body old and new you should go away forever.
No parole, no plea bargaining, NO EXCUSES!
I recently came across a page called Little Angels In Heaven,
She lists hundreds of children that have been killed by parents and on most pages the sentences they received, to say the very least I was appalled.
You get more time for bouncing a check than you do for killing your child!!
A child is a gift from God, to be loved and cherished, nurtered and protected, I beg you if you are abusing a child get help if you know someone or think you know someone who is abusing a child report it.
