SYNOPSIS

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

FULL TIME/DIRECT

Northrop Grumman Defense Mission SystemsSr. Technical Recruiter, Recruiting cleared Systems, Software and Test Engineers for interoperability and data link products.  Other recruiting efforts include Program Managers, Finance Business Managers and Marketing people.  Since coming to this business unit have put process and structure to the recruiting efforts where there was none.  Have also created a structure to the interview process by utilizing best practices learned over years of experience.  Worked with other divisions of NG to utilize and share resources for job fairs and candidate sharing.  Currently working with UCSD to develop better relations and create a college-hiring plan where there was none.  Created a recruiting calendar of events including external and internal job fairs.  Leading a small group of consisting of another recruiter and recruiting coordinator in the absence of local management.

 

ACS Technology Solutions (Technical Directions Inc.) – Sr. Technical Recruiter, Focused on IS/IT consulting recruiting Software Engineers, Programmers, Database Developers/Administrators and Network/System Engineers. Performed new employee orientation including benefits and training.

 

Manpower Technical – Technical Recruiter/Supervisor, Supervised a staff of seven technical recruiters and three administrative assistants. Provided leadership, direction and guidance. As a recruiter, I staffed for many of San Diego’s top companies and industries. I placed employees ranging from Assemblers to Engineers in such industries as Biomed/Biotech, Telecommunications, Defense Electronics and Software. Performed new employee orientation including benefits. Was heavily involved in training of employees, workers compensation and EDD.

 

CONTRACT/CONSULTING

Northrop Grumman Space Technology/Radio Systems – Corporate Technical Recruiter, Recruited Embedded Real Time Software Engineers for Software Defined Radios used in avionics Communications Navigation and Instrumentation applications. Also recruiting Integration and Test Engineers, Mechanical Engineers and Antenna Design Engineers.  Performed full lifecycle recruiting work: Created/edited job descriptions, posted to free and paid sites, sourced resumes, pre-screened candidates, interviewed and closed candidates.  Advised hiring managers in recruiting and hiring.  Was involved in special projects including revamping the recruiting process.  Attended job fairs on behalf of Northrop Grumman for cleared candidates.

 

BAE Systems – Corporate Technical Recruiter, Recruited Software Engineers and Systems Engineers for client server applications in the defense industry. Expertise included C++, VC++, JAVA and Informix Database Engineers. Most positions required screening for ability to obtain a high level of security clearance as well as screening for technical expertise. Additional recruiting projects included an RF Engineer, Cost Estimation Specialist, HR Assistant and an Export Compliance Manager. In addition to recruiting developed an Applicant Tracking System using MS Outlook’s Contact database. The system is customized to BAE’s recruiting process, shared by all recruiters and took only a short time to develop.

 

JNI (AMCC) – Corporate Technical Recruiter, Recruited Software Engineers to write device drivers in Linux and Windows for host bus adapter cards. Recruited Hardware Design Engineers to design high speed, multi layer PCI(X) host bus adapter boards. Also recruited Sales Managers and complimentary Sales Engineers. Boards were used for Storage Area Networks arrays.

 

Cymer Inc. - Corporate Technical Recruiter, Recruited Embedded Software Engineers, Software Test Engineers, Field Service Engineers, Technical Support Engineers, Product Marketing Managers and various technician positions as well as support administrative staff. Cymer Inc. designs and manufactures excimer lasers for the semiconductor capital equipment industry.

 

TeraGlobal Communications (Wave 3 Software) – Corporate Technical Recruiter, Recruited Software Engineers and Software Test Engineers for a video conferencing application. Skills recruited for include Java, Visual C++, OOD and network protocols. Worked directly with the V.P. of Engineering to double the development and test team. Saved over eighty thousand dollars for the company in recruiting fees in two months.

 

TransCore – Corporate Technical Recruiter, Recruited Software Engineers, Software Test Engineers and Hardware Engineers (Microwave and RF) for their transportation software designs. TransCore had traditionally used agencies for recruiting and the managers did all of their own recruiting. Was able to relieve the managers of their recruiting duties freeing them up to manage projects and personnel. Created consistent job descriptions, pre-screened candidates to technical requirements needed and scheduled interviews.  Interviewed for technical skills and behavioral assessments. Advised the managers on choosing the right candidate for the position, performed reference checks and negotiated salaries. TransCore, San Diego had no HR representation so I had taken on quite a bit of that role. Counseling employees, working with managers on hiring needs, compensation and necessary paperwork for contract to hire transfers. Saved over ninety thousand dollars in recruiting fees in the first three months.

 

3G Cellular – Corporate Technical Recruiter, Consulted for a start-up wireless handset company. Recruited Software Engineers, Embedded Software Engineers, RF Engineers, PCB Designers, Mechanical Engineers and Test Engineers for direct and contract positions. Set up 3G’s recruiting and screening process, created job descriptions and posted jobs to free as well as paid web sites. Sourced resumes from free and paid web sites and screened candidates. Interviewed for both behavioral and technical abilities. Advised on internal web design to attract candidates. Helped take this start up venture from employee number thirteen to seventy engineers.

Mesa College, San Diego, CA. – Close to a degree in Associate of Science Computer Information Sciences. One non-technical course required (Accounting II).

 

Attended study group for SPHR/PHR with SHRM. Knowledgeable in many facets of Human Resources, California and Federal laws.

 

COMPUTER EXPERIENCE

Proficient working in the environments of Windows 2000/NT/XP. Highly skilled in the use of Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel.  Completed courses in Visual Basic, C/C++ Object Oriented programming, Pascal programming and BASIC programming. Experience with Mac and Lotus Notes.
