Jesus told his followers a parable(story) about using gifts and talents.

Narrator: A wealthy man was going on a long journey. He called together his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. He gave one servant five million dollars; to another he gave two million. The third servant received one million dollars, Then the man went away.

Servant #1: I'm going to see if I can double my money by smart trading.

Servant #2: I bet I can use this money to make more money for the boss.

Servant #3: I hate having all this money. It might get stolen. I'm going to bury it in a safe place.
Narrator: After a long time, the master returned home. He demanded to know what his servants had done with the maney he gave them.

Servant #1: Master, you gave me five million dollars. See, I've made five million more!

The Master: Good work! Good work! Since I could trust you with small things, I will now give you greater responsibility. Come, let's celebrate.

Servant #2: Sir, I also doubled your money. You gave me two million dollars; here are two million more.

The Master: Good job! You, too, can be trusted. You've proved that you're ready to be put in charge of bigger things. Join the celebration.

Servant #3: Master, I knew you were a demanding person, so I was scared. I went out and buried the one million dollars for safe-keeping. See, here it is, just as you gave it to me.

The Master: You're an ungrateful, lazy servant! You didn't even try to do a good job! You could have at least put my money in the bank and earned some interest!

Narrator: The one million dollars was taken away from the lazy servant and given to the one who had ten million. Just as the third servant was being throun out the door, the master spoke.

The Master: Those who have used well what they have been given, will be given an abundance. But those who could not be trusted with even a small thing, will find it taken from them.
