 Available!

Jake--**3 PICTURES!**(Age - @ 3 years old) Soon-to-be Neutered, Blue Merle male.  Sweet boy looking for a good home that will give him lots of love and attention.  He plays well with people and with other dogs and kids.  Had been kept in back yard without much people-time.   Had been told he was skittish, but have only seen a small amount of this conduct, he really has responded well to a loving foster home and is blossoming quickly.  Haven’t had the opportunity to observe around cats yet.  Thinks strangers are merely friends he hasn't met yet.  Natural ears.  Sweet expression.  Owner surrender due to moving (Sept., 2000)

 Adopted!

Cody--**PICTURE!**(Whelp date--best guess: 6/97) Neutered, sable and white male. Sweet boy looking for a good home that will give him the love he deserves. He shakes hands, is good with other dogs, cats, and kids. Thinks strangers are merely friends he hasn't met yet. Prick ears. Sweet expression. Picked up by animal control (stray).

Adopted!

(Well, OK, I kept her)

Now at the Rainbow Bridge

Jenny--Sadly, Jenny passed away at my home on Thanksgiving Day, 1999 . . . she was a wonderful companion during the brief time (18 months) we shared. I love you, Jenny. A wonderfully, sweet girl! Picked up stray by animal control and kept in the animal shelter for 2 weeks. She had heartworms and was horribly underweight. She has since been treated for the heartworms and is being fostered at my house. She integrated well with my other four dogs and practically ignores my eight cats. She's housetrained and hasn't had a single "accident" in the week that she's been with me. Jenny is a tri-color female, a little on the petite side (about 22 inches at the shoulder), but within the standard height. The problem that we will have placing this wonderful girl is her age . . . she's somewhere between 8 and 10 years old. The shelter originally stated that she was around 5 years, but I don't think that's an accurate guess . . . of course some dogs age more gracefully than others (just like people). Won't you give this grand old lady a chance to live out her days with love and comfort?

 Adopted!

ANGUS *PICTURE*--Angus is approximately 6 years old, a neutered, tri-color male. Good with dogs, cats, and children. A wonderful boy who was returned to our rescue program when his adoptive family moved to another state.

Adopted!

BUFFY *PICTURE*--9 month old, spayed female, sable/white rough. Pure for sable (light golden straw color), white factored (big white collar and lots of white on the legs). Good temperament (although a little shy at the moment), excellent with children and other dogs. This girl will need some tender loving care and lots of groceries--she's extremely thin right now. She was an owner-surrender. She suffered a broken thigh bone when she was 3 or 4 months old that wasn't treated. She had absolutely no veterinary care for her first 9 months of life. The injured leg has healed but will always be a bit shorter than the uninjured one. She can bear weight on the left (injured) side but does hold it up sometimes.

Adopted!

Montgomery Scott (Monty) *PICTURE*--Large (and I mean large! as in the Full Monty !) sable/white, neutered male, about 2 years old. He has been shaved down (OK, more references to the "Full Monty" are inferred here) but his coat should grow back in magnificiently! He's about 28 inches at the shoulder, 90 pounds, and he has the heavy bone and frame to support this size! Really a gentle giant. Great with cats and other dogs, excellent with children. Not an aggressive bone in his big body. Would make an excellent couch potato (if you have a sofa that's big enough ), really laid back.

Adopted!

AMBER *PICTURE*-- 2 year old, spayed female, sable merle/white rough (heavily white-factored) with a unique blaze on her face. Excellent companion with high intelligence and a real lady! Lives to worship her humans!

 Adopted!

Chewy--**PICTURE**(Estimated whelp date 1/97), neutered male, tri-color rough. Moderate sized, friendly boy. Found by a good sam (thank you Regina Rizzi!!) who did all of the dirty work of grooming. Gets along well with other dogs.  Really a sweetheart!

 Adopted!

CAMMI--10-11 month old, mahogany sable/white, spayed female. A snip of white on her nose and a white collar. Rich, mahogany sable. Lots of puppy energy but responds to mild verbal corrections readily. This little girl KNOWS she's the prettiest thing around! She struts and prances when she walks! Absolutely adores children. Good with other dogs. She's a pretty little girl and ready to bring a lot of love to a family.

All collies that are admitted to the rescue are spayed/neutered, heartworm checked, placed on preventive, fully vaccinated, groomed and vet checked before placement into their permanent homes. If you have room in your heart and home for one of these beautiful pets please contact either Carol Newbeck (mailto:kalolagolf@peoplepc.com) or Babbi Dilbeck (agilecollie@yahoo.com.) If you aren't ready to add a collie to your home at this time, please consider making a donation (monetary, food, or supplies) to your local rescue operation--saving these unwanted collies is a huge financial undertaking and all rescues can use any help that is offered. Foster homes are in great need as well, consider offering a temporary haven for a dog that may not have been offered much in the way of kindness.

Thanks!
