Part II
A New Beginning After a Day of Reckoning

Traveler's Wind

On the beach with Diana

Blow gently wind,
blow past the bodies sunning on the beach,
blow past the oil refineries,
blow past the high tech' labs,
on past the gentle hills.

Yes, blow on gentle wind,
to the valleys where the working class live,
to blow the smog away.
Blow on to the mountains,
to the trees and the streams,
where you remind the hunters,
that they are guests.
Blow on 'til you die a soft death in the desert,
where even you, oh gentle wind,
become only hot air,
with all your good intentions,
being cursed by the stranded motorist,
who cannot remember the kind you,
they met at the beach,
and who cannot appreciate,
the long journey you've endured,
simply to be by their side.

Choices Made

A rage, burning to an interminable heat,
like a keg of powder with an ever shortening fuse.
An otherwise peaceful man,
forced to consider a means of force,
only to bring about a restoration of his personal peace.

A rage, burning to an interminable heat,
no longer cooled by written verse,
no longer slowed by relaxing meditation.
An otherwise peaceful man,
forced to consider other than peace.

The Walls

The walls are being built,
one upon another.
Brick upon brick, mortar and steel,
walls against the world.
No landscaping is necessary,
for no one seems to see the walls anyway.
There are no openings in the walls,
the builder didn't want any.
The only way in or out is through the walls.
The walls are being built,
one upon another.
Brick upon brick, mortar and steel,
walls against the world.

You And I

I met you and I smiled.
I talked with you and I laughed.
I lived with you and relaxed.
You died, and alone, I cried.

Fountain In Our Hearts

To Molly J.

There's a time,
when everybody has to face the truth head on.
And there's a time,
when all your fears and tears must tumble to the ground.
We wander through the streets,
pain is all around.
We cry tears that no one is to see,
as the rain fills the fountains in our hearts.

Chorus:
There's a fountain in our hearts,
a real live wishing well.
Coins do we toss in,
but our dreams are not for sale.

There's a time,
when we open up our eyes and see the sun.
And there's a time,
when our hearts are filled with love, a life has just begun.
Now the tears are of happiness,
a joy felt deep within;
A smile shining bright for all to see,
as the love fills the fountains in our hearts.

There's a fountain in our hearts,
a real live wishing well.
Coins do we toss in,
but our dreams are not for sale.

Coins do we toss in,
but our dreams are not for sale.

With You

To Karan

You say I've got my life to live,
I want to live it with you.
You say that I'll want so much more,
but all I want to do,
is spend my time within your arms,
holding you so tight.
To be with you and to watch you sleep,
until the morning light.

Chorus:
I wanna live my life with you babe,
we'll travel the world it's true.
I wanna live my life with you babe,
and when our time is through,
I wanna live my life with you babe,
and cherish the time that we spend.
All I want is to live my life,
with you until the end.

You say you've done the things in life,
that I will want to do.
But what's the point in doin' them,
if I can't do them with you?
I wanna hold your hand, I wanna walk with you,
until the sun goes down.
I wanna be your own little circus,
I wanna be your own little clown.

(Chorus)

You say I've got my life to live,
but all I want to do.
You say that I'll want so much more,
but all I want is you.
I wanna spend my time within your arms,
holding you so tight.
I wanna be with you and watch you sleep,
until the morning light.

What I Think About

If I could give the stars to you,
You know I would.
To give my love to you,
you know I should.
I don't know how to tell you
just how much you mean to me,
so I'll just sit with you
and try to be,

Chorus:
Your lover and friend,
you know I'll always be.
To protect and defend,
but you'll always be free.
To listen and to hold,
at times when you need me.
In love with you,
is all I want to be.

The smile on your face,
I dream about.
And the way I feel for you,
I want to shout.
From the highest hill,
I'd tell my love for you,
but I'll just sit with you,
and try to be,

(Chorus)

I'll love you forever and ever,
'til time fades away;
Forever and ever,
and in your special way,
you'll fill my life with light,
my love it burns so bright,
and all I want to be,
is close to you.

Chorus:
Your lover and friend,
you know I'll always be.
To protect and defend,
though you'll always be free.
To listen and to hold,
at times when you need me.
In love with you,
is all I want to be.

(Repeat chorus and fade)
