6th August was a day to celebrate - Alex's 1st tooth came through the gum! Mummy spotted it and couldn't wait to ring everyone to tell them. We visited the University Nursery that afternoon and had another tour and once again were glad we had picked this nursery. It has a lovely big garden - and a separate area for the babies. It has 2 rooms for the babies a sleeping room with cots in it and a playroom which has foam padded floors. It has lots of toys and is very colourful.
On 8th August Alex went to the Sparklers Sunday School and heard the story of David and Saul - he fell asleep!
That week we did a trial run for nursery and got up early, got the bus up to the nursery and then walked round to Mummy's new job at George Square. It was quite a hassle getting on the bus with the buggy so we think we might walk to nursery instead.
We went to the Cameo cinema where they hold an event called the Big Scream - a screening of a film especially for mums and babies. We went with our friends Sarah and Jack. It was amazing there must have been around 100 mums, dads and babies there. The boys seemed mesmerised by the big screen and didn't cry much at all. Because everyone was in the same boat no body minded if the babies cried or needed a nappy change. It was really good.
We spend the next few days in Doncaster and as you know Alex really enjoyed meeting everyone, especially his cousins; Luke, Natasha, Elsie and Sophie (even if he did make Sophie cry to begin with).
Alex's settling in week at nursery started on 23 August and each day he stayed at nursery a little longer and as the week went on he stayed himself. No problems at all, played with the toys and made a new friend called Dougal. There are 9 babies in total at nursery and there are only 2 girls. Great Auntie Ann came from Ireland to visit and Alex gave her lots of cuddles. |
