NOVEMBER 2004 |
Alex is still enjoying his weekly Jo Jingles session with Mummy on a Monday (her day off) and it is doubly nice as once Jo Jingles is finished it is lunchtime and we go to pick up Grandma J and go to her house for lunch. We are still going to the library regularly and picking out books for Alex. His favourite toys just now seem to be a flower rattle (I think because it has a big label on it rather than anything else), his shape sorter car and his alphabet coasters (which is loves emptying all over the floor). Another toy which has been a surprise hit is the cardboard stacking boxes (below) which Alex enjoys taking out and putting in and knocking over any towers that we build for him. Alex has made lots of little friends at nursery and seems very settled there now - he is always happy to be left in the mornings and never cries. If anything he sometimes cries when Daddy comes to take him home. Alex had his first taste of chocolate (white chocolate buttons) on 2nd November at his friend, Michael's house (to be honest he was more interested in squeezing them inbetween fingers than eating them!) Met Auntie Kirsteen on 6th November and did some Christmas Shopping at the Almondvale Centre in Livingston. We also went into the McArthur Glen Designer Outlet and found some excellent toys in the Early Learning Centre Outlet Shop. (3 houses (that fit inside each other), 3 little pigs and a wolf and 3 keys 1 for each house). Alex has had great fun playing with this and although he can't lock/unlock the doors he really enjoys taking the houses out and in and the pigs out and in and giving them a good old chew. We went swimming again (for the first time in ages) to the Commonwealth Pool - it was good fun but Alex held his feet out of the water. I guess we will just need to start going again in the springtime. Alex visited Autie Jo, Auntie Dorothy and Grandma and Grandad J in November and was pleased to see them all. For Children in Need appeal the nursery held a special sponsored Teddy Bear's Picnic in Pyjamas and Alex went along (with Mummy) and enjoyed his picnic of breadsticks, vegetable batons and yoghurt. There was a lovely story and the teddy bear's picnic song. Alex raised £32 for Children in Need and he also bought his first CD - the Jo Jingles 'Wind the Bobbin Up' charity CD for the same good cause. For Daddy's winter week holiday we went to Culbokie to stay in Auntie Lyndsey's East Lodge for a few days. The journey up was uneventful and Alex had a long sleep in the car. We visited Dingwall, had a tour of the Black Isle and Alex enjoyed helping Auntie Lyndsey wrapping a parcel by playing with the silver curling ribbon and also patting Sam the dog. |
