Great info for my maternal genealogy! Still trying to find LOCAL relatives willing to select a LOCAL PROFESSIONAL so fund-raising can begin to have Captain Gabriel Sistare's gravestone (table) repaired before more legs fall off. Mr. John Spaulding of the CT Gravestone Network has made two recommendations for quality work. Membership in the CGN is only $10/yr. They have their own website.

My mother is a Sistare. Several yrs ago I spent a lot of time researching & connected with the Northern Branch. Northern branch is extremely knowlegable--they have been keeping up with northern branch genealogy for a very long time. I believe Fred Sistare helped tons. One of the relatives gave me their booklet & I passed it on to my Mom. The genealogy research was a gift to her. My parents & family still live in N.C. John Thomas Sistare was my g-g-g-g-grandfather.

I, too, am a descendant of the Captain via the Kobbes. I had always wondered what happened to his first wife; thank you, I guess. I would love to find out more about the Sistares in Spain. I have information on the Kobbes going back to about 1690, and he Lords and Ways to the 1630s (and one of them back to the de la Warrs circa 1066). Mine is such a consummately Northern family I am always surprised to find I have so many Southern relatives. Thanks again, I enjoyed your very useful site a great deal. br>

My knowledge goes back to my grandmother, Elizabeth Lou Courtney Sistare, born in SC (I think maybe around Lancaster) in about 1873. Her father's name was Ronald Jackson Sistare. She also had a brother named William. She married George Thomas Walters ( ossibly from the Charlotte NC area) in about 1897/98. They moved to Arkansas as did George's brother Henry. I have a photo with the names Della Sistare and Leroy Courtney written on the back, and another one with the name Ret Sistare written on the back. Do you have any info that might assist me? Thanks

My father was Ester Louis(Butch) Sustaire , son of Roger Thurman and Lola Mitchell. His brother was Ernest. I believe you have Ester listed as female. He was born 8-14-1912 and passed away 8-12-1976. Neat pages. Pardon my ignorance, but what does WFT mean? I think I have Edmunds's father, Henry's father and Patrick's father. No documentation as yet but I found some dates and names, that are quite interessting. Have you ever heard of or seen ment oned: Joseph Marion Gullion and his father Reuben? Some of their descendants live in Franklin Co., Columbus, Ohio. Went to a Gullion family reunion in Winston Salem, N. C. over 4th of July. What a nice time we had. My two sisters and I went up from R ck Hill, SC where we live. Sure hope that between us, we will find the missing ancestor that will tie us all together, I am firmly convinced we are all related!! I am looking for any information on Frank W. Wilson who 's unit was originally a state militia unit known as the Williamsburg Light Dragoons. The men where mostly from Williamsburg County, SC then he served in the 10th S.C. Vol Inf. later he served in th 4th S.C Vol Calvary Co. in 1864.
