Benjamin GEORGE was one of the earliest settlers of Lincoln County, Tennessee. He was noted in records of
land transactions
as early as 1811, two years after the establishment of the county. By 1820, 11 GEORGE families were noted in the
U.S. census
for Lincoln County. There were about 18 GEORGE families listed in the 1850 census, but many of these families
had immigrated
to Lincoln County during the 1830s and some of the original families had apparently moved out. Based on the
page numbers
of the 1820 census and later census enumerations, we can take a reasonable guess at what GEORGE families
were related during
each period. This information provides a good starting point for further research. The below study focuses on
the families
believed to be related to Benjamin GEORGE. These families all settled in the Tucker Creek area of Lincoln
County east of
Fayetteville.

Isaac B. Eslick m. Jencey George 30 Apr 1810
James George m. Sibetha Eslick 13 Mar 1810
Isaac B. Eslick is next door to Richard George in Lincoln Co., TN
William George is on the other side of Richard George in Lincoln., Co.,
TN
William George m. Catlincey Hunt 19 Jul 1813
John George, Benj. George and Richard George are on Wilson Co., TN Tax
rolls in 1806.
I am concluding from these facts that William and Jencey are Richard's
Children.
At this time, I am also putting William of SC 1820, John of Lincoln, TN
1820, James of Lincoln, TN 1820, Thomas of Lincoln, TN 1820, Margaret
George (m. John Bryce, location unknown) and Francis as John George's
children whose names are identified in his will.
This leaves a strong connection between John George of SC, Benjamin
George of TN, and Richard George of TN.
