I am interested in information concerning the family and/or ancestry of Lewis
George of Colleton Co., SC. He married first Sabra Walker. Married a second
time, but name of wife it not known. Only child known (there were others) is:
Briton George, who ran away from home after his father's second marriage,
taking a sister with him. Found a home for the sister in Georgia, but her
name is never given. Briton was born 6 Nov. 1804; died 6 Oct 1882 in Starke,
Bradford Co., FL.
I found the following George marriages in Jackson CO, FL. If you have
anything on these families, I would like to swap data.

I'm researching George's from the Burlington, New Jersey area in the late
1800's/early 1900's. They supposedly lived in Philadelphia prior to this, and
at one point the name was "Saint George," of which I have no knowledge. Anyone
researching this line? I'm also particularly interested in learning anything
about the name "Saint George" because it doesn't seem to be commonly
researched, at least not from what I can find on internet genealogy sites.
The knowns at this point are:
--James S. George (born ?, died 1929 in NJ)
--John W. George (born 4-12-1868, died 2-11-1933, NJ) possibly worked for
Wanamaker's in Philadelphia.
J--ohn W. George married Mabel Gamble they had 10 children, many of whom
died before the age of 20. Elizabeth Kemley George, one of their daughters,
was my grandmother.
