As a child, one of my fondest memories was the dinners on the church grounds.
After church let out, we would all gather on the church grounds, set up buffet tables and spread out all the wonderful food that all the members brought. After we were stuffed beyond full, the adults would spread blankets on the ground and visit. The children would run and play. Sometimes there would be sack races and pie eating contests and the men would pitch horse shoes. It was a great time for all.
