AMOS
Cabe, mentioned in the will of John Cabe to share equally with his beloved
children. b 1771; d 4 June 1855, age 84. m Esther Sharpe, b 1789'. d 12
Feb. 1844. Both are buried in the Old Savannah Cem., located Jackson Co.
The first census on which Amos Cabe appears as head of the house is the
1810 Haywood Co. As his eldest child was born ca. 1809, it is assumed he
was married sometime during the period between the 1800 census and the
1810 census. The 1810 census was the first census taken after Haywood Co.
was cut off from Buncombe Co. in 1808.

The early land grants on record at Macon Co. Courthouse contain information which places Amos Cabe in the Savannah Section of present Jackson Co., then Macon Co., which is where many of his descendants are still living at the present time.
