WELCOME TO YWAM TANA HOME PAGE
YWAM Antananarivo, Madagascar is one of the hundreds of YWAM centers in the world.
1. VISION
"Reaching those we can reach to reach the unreached."
2. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
3. ONGOING MINISTRIES
    3.1 ASA XIII
ASA XIII is a Malagasy word which means ACTS 13. It is a ministry with the purpose of sending out missionaries to change the history of the rural areas of Madagascar through the Gospel. It is based on the passage in Acts 13:1-5 which tells the story of Paul and Barnabas being sent out to fulfill the calling of God upon their lives.
What are the GOALS in this project?
What is the STRATEGY to meet these goals?
We send out four teams:
These teams need support in the following areas:
What has been DONE?
The pilot project began in Belo sur Tsiribihina (a town in the southwest of Madagascar). An intercession team went there in July 1997. In March 1998, the first missionary team of five members was sent out. They had the task to build lasting relationships. Each missionary team worked for a period of three months. The eight members of the second missionary team are now working as a pioneering team.
Who can participate?
All who have received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, who are motivated by the love of Jesus to share the true Gospel, ready to give rather than to receive. You are welcome to participate in changing the history of Madagascar. Come quickly, there is a great work waiting for you!
    3.2 INTERCESSION
Our GOALS:
Our goals are: to have Madagascar covered with prayers and effective intercession to weaken and break all the strongholds the enemy has built all around the country, to see all the Malagasy people coming to know and worship the only true and almighty God, and the fulfillment of God's original purpose for Madagascar - the coming of His Kingdom throughout the island.
Our STRATEGY:
What has been DONE?
An intercession team was sent to Belo sur Tsiribihina, where there is an occultic stronghold. The "fitampoha" is the practice of bathing the relics of the king, an old ritual practice in the southwest area of Madagascar. Nowadays it not only gets the whole of the west-coast tribe of Madagascar involved but also the Malagasy people, even its government by supporting and making it a tourist attraction.
The team conducted research in this place by interviewing some local Christian leaders or elders, authorities, and different people, and also by observing and listening to the Holy Spirit. The information recorded was daily prayed into.
A prayer walk focused on warfare was done in the area where there was no breakthrough of the Gospel, an area where there are dominating cemeteries and mosque buildings. An isolation of the area was sensed as the result of God's judgement. So intercession and prayer were held at the gates of the city, at the airport - which is now opened! A great challenge was made to Christians at Rhema Church to continue to pray for the city. More than twenty people committed themselves to prayer and intercession.
The intercession department of YWAM has led teams to pray again and again over some of the twelve "sacred" hills around Antananarivo. In these places, there are tombs of the kings where people come to worship the ancestors and ask their blessings. Research, prayer and spiritual warfare were done in these places.
What needs to be done in the next step?
What kind of support do we need?
    3.3 DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING SCHOOL (DTS)
DTS is an intensive training program designed to establish the Christian in his/her faith and to prepare him/her for Christian service. YWAM Antananarivo runs two DTS's each year: one in Malagasy and one bilingual: Malagasy and English.
The three months of lecture phase is followed by a cross-cultural outreach in different provinces of Madagascar. During our previous schools, our outreach teams have ministered at schools, in prisons, at hospitals, and in rural areas. They taught and worked with churches doing personal, open air evangelism, practical works and much more.
Have you committed your life to Jesus Christ? Is it your desire to know God more and lead others to know Him? Do you want to reach out to the tribes of Madagascar? If your answer is YES, then our Discipleship Training School is for you!
    3.4 SUMMER OF SERVICE
Summer of Service is a short-term camp held during school vacation in Madagascar each year (between July and September). It is an ideal opportunity for Christians from different churches and cultures to reach out together after a short time of training. The first Summer of Service organized by YWAM Antananarivo was held in '97 during the French Speaking Nations Games. There were 60 participants from seven nations and fifteen different denominations.
So do not miss the next one!
    3.5 HOSTING SHORT-TERM OUTREACH TEAMS
Short-term outreach teams (from YWAM, churches or other organizations) are welcome at our base. We can organize ministry opportunities for you, facilitate and coordinate your outreach in Madagascar. Just contact us well in advance!
4. BASE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
Our desire is to see God's work grow. We are still renting a house now. To accommodate our growth in number and ministry, we need to own a property where we can build a base to run our training and all other activities. And we are very glad to invite you to partner with us and be a part of what God is doing with us in Madagascar.
HOW? Through your prayer and financial donation.
