Harmon Fruit was born 17, Feb. 1813. He was the grandson of Margaret and George Fruit of Franklin Co., IN. Margaret died September 1829 in Franklin Co., IN. She willed her household items to her grandson Harmon when he became of age.

He married Susanah Foster 25th of Sept. 1834. At the time he lived in Butler co. Ohio and she lived in Fayette co. IN. They lived in Ohio until about 1845, then moved to Indiana and then to Iowa in the 1850's. Harmon died 24 July 1889 in Boone co., IA. Susanah Fruit died 26th Dec. 1895. Their family included at least the following children:
