Our Stud's Foundation Australian Stock Horse Mare

Registered First Cross Australian Stock Horse
and
Section A of the W.G.H.R.

1975 - 2003

Sire: - Chan's Last By Chan out of Sally
Chan's Last was a big bold bay horse who sired a lot of very successful showjumpers as well as excellent farm horses. Underutilised while he lived, he covered many mares but, to my knowledge, there are few actually registered A.S.H. His offspring can be quite hot but strong and gutsy.

Dam: - Blue
An Unregistered stock horse mare from Queensland who produced quiet, reliable working stock.

On a training ride at home - June 98

The story of how I came by Chance can be read in History

Chance is a lovely strong, bold mare that I call the bulldozer when it comes to bush bashing! There is no where she will not go - and as for working cattle - I just hang on : ) She is quiet for a Chan's Last horse - but I have yet to see one suitable for a beginner - although my young sons do sit on her in the paddock or have a lead around.

Chance started me on my journey to fulfilling my dream of endurance riding - at the young age of 19. She was as I thought she would be - keen, tough and fast with a 34 BPM heart rate and excellent recovery - and all this whilst 7 months pregnant as we later discovered!

Chance's first foal, by an unknown father, for us was the lovely, rangy 1996 black gelding Banjywon Highlander. Unfortunately we lost him due to a shoulder injury.

She then produced a beautiful filly, Banjywon Perhaps for us in 1997 to Table Top Able Sam (by Abdul) and we sent her back to rejoin her - which we thought had failed so put her back into work once again. Only to find that she must have been served the day she was scanned and indeed did end up being in foal!

Chance went on to produce the lovely gelding- Banjywon Jigsaw.in October, 1998, he is broken and now in training for A.R.C and dressage. He is strong and tough - a typical Chan.

Chance produced a lovely bay colt foal by Table Top Able Sam - aptly named Banjywon Torch, for us on Friday the 15th September, 2000 - right in the middle for the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony! He is a lovely little fellow, beautiful shoulder, deep wither and big! He has been sold to a friend who will use him for showing and campdrafting and is showing all the traits of Chance's previous foals. He ahs just been broken to saddle and is a delight.

Chance unfortunately had to be put down last year due to the complications of age. She is very sadly missed.
