Dam: - Gwenny
Dam of good working stock known for their gentle natures, Gwenie was by a Better Boy Son from a pony mare.
Quin, as we call her, stands just under 15 hands and has a gentle nature and good working ability. Until coming to us she had only had one outing in the Stock Horse ring for a win but has achieved Champions and Reserves in Open Ridden and Led Classes.
Quin only became available to us after a partnership breakup with her previous owner, Jenny Tilburg, retaining the second foal when Quin is retired to stud. So far Quin has mostly earned her keep as a droving and work horse with limited show outings, indeed she had not been out for over 12 months.
Perhaps, Quin and I at Sale Showgrounds, September, 2000
Quin and I did a couple of A.S.H. shows and an H.R.C.A.V. show with good success, 2nds and 3rds at most outings. However, she has now had a change of direction
Quin Commenced her endurance career with a 20km social ride iin January, 2001 at Yarra Ranges Ride. She returned there in March 2002 to complete our first 160km ride and to qualify us for the 2002 Victorian Quilty.
Quin being strapped at Briagalong 2002 90km for a successful completion.
This little black mare has now completed 650km in endurance. She is tough and steady - not a front runner but just keeps going and going. After an unsuccessful attempt at the Quilty at Landsborough Quin was joined to the old part Crabbet stallion, Quabin Sariq and is the proud mother of "Banjywon Belisima", a black/brown filly.
Quin the week after the Quilty with Mitch and Lachlan on board.
