Hello there, my maiden name was Wentworth and I am from Kent in England and wandered in your site for info.- My paternal grandparents John Wentworth & Lillian Eliza Murphy married in London UK 1899 and died in the 50's and 60's and it would have been nice to have had a connection. Howwver, I then peeked in to everything else and like you, but for different reasons felt sad and was thinking how Life hits us all at some time or other and the face we put the world sometimes is at odds with how we really feel inside. I am glad that there are so many web sites giving the ones who have no clue what breast cancer is. I am not proud to say that I am one of those people that don't know, until I chose it for a research paper. I didn't know men could get it too. There are a lot of blind people out there that think the situation is funny. How many out there would feel bad if it were your mother or father and you made jokes about it. Thank you for opening my eyes. I also plan to read my paper to an audience of maybr 100. That's 100 extra that didn't know that will know now.

Dear Debbie: My 2 year old son is named Nakiah. The only other time I have heard this name was in Sedona, AZ -- an Apache man's wolf pup was named Nakiah but spelled differently. How did you come by the name of Nakiah for your son? After finding out by ultrasound m baby would be a boy, his name was spoken to me and the spelling of NAKIAH passed in front of my eyes. My aunt has been diagnosed with Stage III breast cancer in the left breast. At mastectomy, she had 15 lymph nodes tested and 15 lymph nodes positive. All of the breast tissue was positive. She has had yearly mammograms. What is her prognosis and why did this happen? I do not want to hear that mammograms are not 100%. I am very angry. She is someone who is not only a relative, but a very close friend. Can you help me deal with this?

Being a survivor for four years now I still constantly like to read of others stories and experiences. I have been in the same support group for all this time. We started with six members and now we are 4. That is life!! Hi Deb...I share your thoughts and feelings about today's "ethic of care" within the medical profession. I could write a book of my experiences through the years and friends and families have encouraged me to do so. I'm frightened each time I'm diagnosed with a new medical problem or disease and have to undergo surgery and/or treatments. Unfortunately, I have been fighting one medical problem after another for years. Most of them have resulted in surgery. Eating right, exercising and taking supplements hasn't kept me healthy and out of doctor's offices. I was diagnosed with breast cancer right before I turned 50 this year. My birthday is New Years Day and it has been quite a year so far...Have to say I was plenty angry when I was told. I was battling pain in my liver at the time and limping around on a broken toe that because of osteoporosis has yet to heal. I've been positive I would never have to face breast cancer. Boy, was I surprised when my annual mammogram showed abnormal calcifications after nine years of films! Had stereotactic biopsy in Jan. followed a month ago with lumpectomy for DCIS, non-invasive. Today, had first radiation treatment and not looking forward to 6 weeks of it. Oncologist wants to start Tamoxifen afterwards. Meanwhile, had to put liver problem on hold and now suffer chronic pain almost daily. The doctors keep assuring me this is not connected to breast cancer even though cancer was in right breast above the liver. I've always been like your husband "an eternal optimist" where my husband of 32 years has been a "realist." I'm now somewhere in between and am growing weary from the constant battle for good health. Thanks for sharing your story and I pray the medical profession wakes up soon...we're losing to the almighty "bottom line!" Much luck to you, Robin
