This spring marked the graduations of two young family members, David Wing and Jonathan Cooper. David graduated from high school at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, and Jon graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado. Although they live on opposite sides of the country, both are dynamic people with bright futures.
David grew up in Massachusetts, north of Boston, and after working as a camp counselor this summer, is now beginning college at Yale University. Although undecided about a major, he plans to eventually study medicine. He says that he is very excited to have graduated, but that he will regret leaving friends behind. He enjoyed his experiences at Andover, epecially a chemistry teacher from South Africa, who taught him as much about African politics as he did about atoms.
Outside the classroom, David will be trying out for the lacrosse team, a sport in which he excelled in high school.

In New Haven, he'll be a healthy distance away from home, but not too far. Email him and the family at dwing@tiac.net. Jonathan, on the other hand, will be a bit farther from his parents in Colorado, at least part of the time. His new job at Anderson Consulting will keep him on the road and on his toes. He says that he is enjoying the challenge of a new job and learning new skills. Although he works very hard, the demands fit his energy level, mom Tryna Cooper says.
Jon too is happy to have graduated. He enjoyed college, and as student body president was in the local news when he helped to resolve a dispute between students and police. The dispute over under age drinking had led to rioting. He says you can still see him on an MTV special about drinking on college campuses. He moved into a new apartment, but you'll probably have better luck emailing him atjonathan m. cooper@ac.com (yes it has spaces!).
Best of luck, Grads.
