Majors Lindsay & Lynette Rowe


     Lindsay was born in Come By Chance and was raised in Chance Cove, NF. He received Christ as his Saviour when he was seven years old and was assured by God that Salvation Army Officership was to become his life's vocation. He trained in both the St. John's and the Toronto College for Officers and was commisioned as a cadet of the Blood and Fire Session and appointed to Kemptville, ON, as Corps Officer in June of 1973

     Lynette, (nee Hutt), was born in Toronto, ON but moved to Winterton, NF when she was eleven years old and shortly after, received Christ as her Saviour during a Decision Sunday at the Salvation Army. Following High School, she trained at the CFOT, St. John's, where she was commissioned as an officer of the Lightbringer's Session in 1972. Prior to their marriage in 1974, she served as youth officer at Corner Brook Citadel, corps officer in Harry's Harbour/Jackson's Cove and assistant officer in Mascouche Heights, Quebec.

     The Rowes ministered as corps officers for 18 years serving in Neepawa, Manitoba; Edmonton and Fort McMurray, Alberta; Twillingate, NF and as reinforcement officers for 4 years in Kingston, Jamaica. For 6 years the served as staff officers at the CFOT in St. John's, serving 3 years as Sectional Officers for the married cadets and their families. Major Lindsay completed 3 years as Field Co-ordinator and Major Lynette as Assistant to the Field Co-ordinator. They are presently the Corps Officers here at Peterborough Temple.

     Lindsay had a B.A. Honours degree in Religious Studies from Memorial University of Nf. He was also granted the University Medal for Academic Excellence in Religious Studies. He is presently enrolled in a Master of Divinity program at Ontario Theological Seminary in Toronto. The Rowes are fully accredited Marriage Enrichment leader/trainers through The Association of Couples for Marriage Enrichment in North Carolina.

     The Rowes have two grown children, a 25 year old daughter, Cheryl, who is a graduate of Memorial University and who is presently employed in Peterborough. Cheryl married Terry Mouland on Oct 3/98 at Peterborough Temple Corps. They also have a 23 year old son, Shannon, who works part time and is enrolled in a 3 year Computer Technology course in Peterborough.
