Sunday School Feature - My Story

Hi, my name is MARTHA EWING. God gave me a place to live in PETERBOROUGH. He also game me a MOM & DAD to take care of me. God provides me with the food to eat. My very favorite thing to eat is PIZZA. He gives me clothes to wear. I like to wear my SHORTS & T-SHIRT the best. God also cares about who my friends are. One of my best friends is STACEY. We like to PLAY together. God gave me a school to go to where I learn things like FRENCH & SPELLING. The best teacher I ever had was MRS. ETHIER. God also gave me a church to go to. The Corps Officers are MAJORS LINDSAY & LYNETTE ROWE.

Peterborough Temple Youth Band Gets New Flag!

We are happy to report that the Peterborough Temple Youth Band has dedicated a new flag in memory of Mr. Robert Calderwood. The shiny new flag is on display in the Boy's Hall. It was delivered just in time for the Youth Band trip to Ottawa..

WWF at Kingston Citadel

The Sunday School has transformed into a "Wild Wednesday Fellowship". It is the mission of WWF to introduce children to Jesus Christ, teach them the truths of the gospel, and nurture them in a loving environment. We fulfill our mission by providing an opportunity for all children who come within our sphere of influence to be introduced to the love of Jesus through worship. We teach every child about the gospel in our classes, and we nurture them by having a strong relationship ourselves with Jesus Christ. All of these are expressed each Wednesday evening as wew meet together. Our evenings look somethin like this:

5:00 p.m.
Supper for the whole family!
5:35 p.m.
Praise & Worship
5:50 p.m.
Classes
6:30 p.m.
Options (ie. band, crafts, recorder, timbrels, drama)
7:00 p.m.
Singing Company
7:45 p.m.
See you next week!

Justin Bradbury: Youth Pastor, Kingston Citadel

Readers Note: Mrs. Betty Wood (Debbie's mom) will be coming to Peterborough Home League on April 28. They will be focusing on Sunday School Days. Mrs. Wood will expand on Justin's article at that time, letting the ladies know how they can become involved in Youth Ministry. She will release a copy of Justin's article in its entirety at that time. We are thankful to be able to share ministry ideas with our friends in Kingston.

Did you Know???

Our friends at Woodroffe Temple Sunday School have decided to use our Titanic theme. We'll have to track down Todd Leach and see how they are doing.

Spring Fling

We had a great time at our spaghetti dinner and bowling with about 22 young people and 4 leaders. The kids seemed to have a great time and several asked if we could do it again. Maj. Sandra's brother made us a great spaghetti sauce. We had Caesar salad, garlic bread and punch with chocolate or vanilla cupcakes for dessert.

Keep in Touch With Our Students

You, yourself know how nice it is to get a short note of encouragement from someone else. Our college and university students live in a very challenging environment. During the month of February, take time to let them know how much we care. If you need their postal or email address please ask Debbie Wombwell or Murray Carr.

Youth Band a Hit in Ottawa

"The Peterborough Temple soldiers and adherents must be very proud of their young people and those who work with them. Their deportment was excellent, their music was inspiring, and their enthusiasm contagious! WOW! would be a great was to express our reaction from Ottawa Citadel to the weekend."

Applause Award to ...

Wendy Turner for her upkeep of the YP Bulletin Board. Wendy always has it appropriately decorated. Take a look this month and see visual reminders of how we at Peterborough Temple are "Raising the Titanic."

Temple Times On-Line

Greg Wombwell has worked diligently over the last several months developing a format for the Peterborough Temple Times to be placed on the internet. Especially to our students who are away at college or university, you will be able to check us out at http://geocities.datacellar.net/Heartland/Valley/2807/ now that we have received the go ahead from Territorial Headquarters. Thanks Greg for your interest and work in this ministry. It's great to see our young adults using their specialized skills in this manner.

Attention Corps Cadets & Corps Cadet Leaders.
Email message from Dys, Major Gary Cooper

Peterborough is blessed with some of the finest youth in our Division. Their commitment and dedication is an example and product of the quality of those who invest the time in providing the necessary leadership, role modelling and mentoring it takes in developing youth to be prepared to face the future. Keep up the good work! Blessings!
