The Peterborough Temple Times On-Line

Issue 24 - April - May 1999

"Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: He is risen; He is not here"

Mark 16:6

A Bug's Life

In the Salvation Army we use the term "Self Denial". The children in Sunday School are asked to give up something they enjoy in a fundraising effort to help others in need. To date the children have raised $450.00 and are basing their contest on the Bug's Life theme.

Team 4 is slightly ahead at the moment!

Last month's Bowl-a-thon raised $280.00

Looking ahead - our young folks are having a bake-a-thon in March and a walk-a-thon on April 18th. WE WILL GO OVER THE TOP OF OUR COLOURFUL THERMOMETERS!

The Primary Department is busy putting coloured "bricks" on God's temple. To date we have raised $55.00.

Each week we sing our theme chorus "Building up the Temple" as we work on our Self Denial project.

Recently we said goodbye to teachers, Glenn & Lisa Calderwood, who welcomed "Hope" into their home. We also said goodbye to Heather Robertson - she and husband Deryck along with big sister, Evelyn, will be welcoming a new baby in April.

We hope the leaves of absence will be short and they will be back teaching soon. Congratulations to both families and thank you for keeping our Primary Department GROWING!!

We also say thank you to Linda Smoke & Bev Sacrey for filling in for our new parents.

Cradle Roll/Family Services News

We wish God's blessing on Hope Ann-Marie Calderwood as her parents, Lisa & Glenn, dedicate her life to the Lord this Easter Sunday.

A special welcome to all of her family who have travelled to Peterborough to celebrate with the Wombwell/Calderwood families, especially Great-Grandfather, Norman Wombwell, who will be accompanying Hope's grandfather, Gary, in a musical tribute. Norm played for Lisa's dedication also.

Congratulations to Julie & Dan Lavesque on the arrival of a baby boy, Chase Robert Richard, born on Thursday, March 11, 1999 weighing 6 lbs. 14 oz.
